Covid-19 Deaths: A Look at U.S. Data

About 6 months of 2020 weekly US death data is analysed for the effects of the leading causes of death in 2020 as compared to previous years.

This was a webinar by the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Advanced Academic Programs, a friendly conversation on a morose topic on November 11, 2020. This presentation was led by Dr. Genevieve Briand, MS in Applied Economics Assistant Program Director. Genevieve went over where the data could be accessed and downloaded. Together with her, event attendees were invited to think critically about the data presented. This webinar looked at very simple statistics; nonetheless, it shed light on the COVID-19 situation.

Dr. Genevieve Briand found that there is no real significant rise in total deaths nor in the fraction of any age category in the US for 2020. The following are her conclusions for total deaths compared to COVID-19 deaths in 2020.

What is most surprising is that during the peak period when people were dying from COVID there was a proportionate decrease in those dying from heart disease. The following chart is a week on week table. + means an increase over the previous week and – means a decrease. Note the decrease is all causes of deaths is compensated by the increase of COVID deaths over heart disease deaths. Remember deaths due to heart disease inexplicably went down.

That is very significant as heart disease is normally by far the leading cause of death. Yet heart disease deaths in 2020 were less than in 2018 which also had a peak in deaths during the usual annual seasonal high. Now that’s an inconvenient truth.

The analysis indicates that there was no pandemic over the six months analysed for the USA. This is the same result seen in many other countries when all causes of death are considered. People die all the time. It is the normal state of affairs. Hence the so-called global pandemic was a plandemic of fear.

A real pandemic would look more like the 1918 Spanish flue where 20% or more of those who were infected died and bodies were seen lying in the streets. Except for the faked videos of people dropping in the streets in China (created to instill fear in the populous), nowhere did we see the hospital systems overloaded because there has not been any significant rise in the number of excess deaths over past annual seasonal peaks (due to all natural causes).

As might be expected Dr Briand’s presentation was censored by JHU. We can’t have some truth getting out there can we? You be the judge.
