Belief in God Creation/evolution Meaning of life

What I believe, in song

This is what I believe.

YahshuaI don’t believe in evolution. It is one of the biggest lies ever told. God, YAHWEH, Jehovah, Yahshua, the great I AM created everything. He created life on Earth – the only place it exists in the Universe. He created us with a plan and purpose.

Yahshua HebrewGod revealed His plan in the Bible. It is not only a history book but the book of Life, preserved by a Sovereign God.  His name is Jesus, the word being derived from the Hebrew word “Yahshua,” meaning “Yah-is our-salvation” or “YAHWEH is our salvation.”

Missing matter mostly missing in lensing galaxy

ringofradiation
Figure 1: An irregular ring of radiation can be seen around the distant galaxy in the center of this 2.2-micron CCD photograph, made with the 10-meter Keck telescope on Hawaii. Just below the lensing galaxy a neighboring galaxy can be seen, which also contributes to the lensing effects. Sometimes these are called an Einstein ring. Credit: ESA and the W. M. Keck Observatory

Gravitational lensing is a prediction of Einstein’s general theory of relativity. It describes the situation where a foreground galaxy (or cluster of galaxies) acts like a light lens and focuses the light of a more distant background galaxy and hence magnifies it like a normal lens would do.  According to the theory the lens distorts the galaxy image often looking like a cross or a ring around the closer “lensing” galaxy.

Several earth-based radio and optical telescopes and the Herschel Space Observatory were used to image an object. Shown here, in Fig. 1, is where a gravitational lens is claimed to image a very distant galaxy that is apparently still in early formation.

The largest structure in the observable universe or cosmic variance?

The red crosses indicate the positions of quasars in a smaller LQG, the Clowes & Campusano LQG at the same redshift, around z = 1.28. Credit: R. G. Clowes / UCLan

In late 2012 a discovery was made1 of what was afterwards called the Huge Large Quasar Group (Huge-LQG).  A collection of 73 quasars all with redshifts around a mean value of z = 1.27 was discovered in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS DR7QSO) that covers 15 degrees across the sky.

A new discovery was made in 2013 of a massively large quasar group as indicated by the black circles in figure 1. Its longest extension is about 4 billion light-years based on standard concordance cosmology.  This was then claimed as the largest single structure in the universe. Its location on the sky is about 8.8 degrees north of the Clowes & Campusano large quasar group (LQG) at the same redshift, with a mean of z = 1.28.  The latter is indicated by the red crosses in figure 1.

Evolution is not operational science

Science1Previously I explained that there are really two types of science.1 One is operational or experimental science which is based on repeatable experiments (e.g. done in a lab) in the present. The experiment can be repeated again and again, and because we trust that laws of nature (which God created in the beginning) are immutable we have learned to expect the same results. This is the basis of the modern technological revolution.

Science2

Historical ‘science’ is based on evidence available in the present but consists of stories about supposed events in the past that cannot be repeated, observed, or tested experimentally. It is forensic science where you have to make up a story about the past, which best fits the evidence at hand. The evidence is circumstantial at best.

EOWilsonHarvard Professor  E.O. Wilson, secular-humanist and deist, said,

If a moving automobile were an organism, functional biology would explain how it is constructed and operates, while evolutionary biology would reconstruct its origin and history—how it came to be made and its journey thus far.

Is belief in a Creator God anti-science?

Often the misotheists (god-haters) like Richard Dawkins and Neil deGrasse Tyson (host of Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey TV series) will claim that those who believe in God, and, even more particularly, in the Creator God of the biblical Genesis account of Creation, cannot do science. They claim that thinking in those terms destroys one’s ability to do real science. They claim that creationism is anti-science and call it pseudoscience.

But can a scientist who holds a literal historical worldview of the Genesis 1 account  do real science? Of course he can. I am one such scientist. See CRYOGENIC SAPPHIRE OSCILLATOR: THE WORLD’S MOST PRECISE CLOCK for a summary of my experimental development of the most precise clock on Earth. I largely work in the time and frequency community building the most advanced classical clocks ever developed by man. These are used in time standards labs to assist atomic fountain clocks to operate at their ultimate quantum-limited performance. I have proposed their use for improved imaging of the super-massive black holes at the centre of our galaxy and nearby galaxies, and I am working with members of the team involved with the Event Horizon Telescope, comprising a collection of large high frequency radio-telescopes, located across the surface of the Earth.

Atheists turn out to strike against creationism and the supernatural

On Friday June 6th, I presented a lecture at the University of Adelaide entitled “8 Reasons Why Evolution is Foolish” to an audience of about 55, filling about half of the seating in a small lecture theatre. I spoke on the topic for about 60 minutes presenting my 8 reasons via 8 questions which, so far, have not been answered by evolutionists. Following the lecture we had about 40 minutes of Q&A. The video of the lecture is here.

Atheist commentAn organised group of atheists turned out to strike a blow for science against creationism and the supernatural by taking me on. That is what they claimed on their website.See left excerpt.

There were about 10 members of some atheist club, who peppered themselves through the audience. After the event one guy identified himself as president of some atheist club, so it is clear they came with an action plan. I had been forewarned that something like this might happen as one contact told me that there had been a lot of activity on a university-connected FB page about this event. But their arguments and the questions they put to me in the Q&A were a total failure.

Interviewed on Bible Smack Radio

I was interviewed on Bible Smack Radio on Friday night USA time, 6 June 2014, or Saturday around midday Central Australian time, 7 June 2014.Bible Smack Radio

Click here for Bible Smack Radio “Creationist astronomy: the final frontier.”  You can hear my interview starting from about the 50 minute mark through to the end.

Contrary to the introduction on the website my work on ultra-precise clocks, is not with nuclear (or even atomic) clocks, but classical clocks made from a single crystal of sapphire cooled to near 6 K. They are in fact the most stable clocks on earth, currently.

Age as a quality factor of human life after the Flood

The concept of decreasing human life spans after the Flood is considered by analogy to a quality factor that one observes in physical systems. It is found that the concept is not inconsistent with what we observe from the decreasing life spans of the Patriarchs listed in Genesis. (This article is a bit mathematically technical. It is really just speculation but I found very interesting. Edited from an article first published online here.)

In physics we define the quality factor (or Q-factor) of a system using the time it takes for it to dissipate 1/e of its energy. If we then look at human life spans in terms of a quality factor we would all have to agree that length of life or age at death defines a sort of a quality factor.

One researcher examined entropy of living systems and concluded that essentially we die because we come into thermal equilibrium with our environment at senile old age.1 This is where we can no longer generate enough heat to sustain life in the body and we die.  So to live a long time means we have some sort of higher quality factor and it takes longer for the state to arrive where the cells in the body can no longer generate enough heat. This is of course what entropy is all about. Living things are complex systems and while functioning properly are highly complex low entropy systems.

Does the age of the Earth really matter?

From the following list, based on the biblical genealogies contained mostly in Genesis chapters 5 and 11, we can calculate the age of the Earth. Thus the Earth is only of the order of 6000 years old, not 4.6 billion years old as long-age-of-the-Earth deep-time evolution believers would have you also believe.Genealogies
The date of the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt is the key to getting this connected to our modern-day calendar. It is like an anchor point. However there are many conflicting theories on that date,1 but Scripture tells us that Solomon started to build his temple to God in the fourth year of his reign.

“And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.” (I Kings 6:1)

This is the key that unlocks a door. The verse also tells us that this was 480 years after the Exodus from Egypt. The dates for Solomon’s reign are generally assigned to 971-931 BC. From the date of Solomon’s fourth year of his reign (966 BC), one can add 480 years to 966 BC and get 1446 BC (the year of the Exodus).
