Keys to Healing

Not too often do I recommend a Christian book. Yesterday I finished reading John Mellor’s “Keys to Healing” and I found it to be the best, well presented, book on the subject of the operation of the gifts of healing in the modern age.  If you need healing this is a must read.

The book may be purchased from the author’s website.

In recent years I had become frustrated hearing preachers state that God’s Holy Spirit no longer worked like He did in the Early Church era.  Particularly this was very frustrating to me as I often prayed for healing, over the past 3 years, when going through a lot of pain with a multitude of dis-eases. Thankfully the Lord has been delivering me from these dis-eases.  Folks, I know the Holy Spirit still heals. The message of the Bible is all about healing, not of just the soul, but also of the mind and the body.

Isaiah 53:4,5

Surely He has borne our griefs [pains], and carried our sorrows [sicknesses]: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

My health journey: part 3

In June last year I wrote a post indicating that I had eradicated h. pylori bacteria (finally) from my gut and I believed I was on a healing journey from thereon out. Well that it seems now was only the start of the journey and I had still a long way to go. Here I will try to document some of my journey after June 2018.

At that time I was following the Dave Hompes h. pylori diet which meant eating regular small meals always including some animal protein with each meal. This was to keep your blood sugar stable.

At that time I still would get acid reflux and gastritis due to the damage done to my body but eventually, by eating low acidic foods, my stomach healed and I was largely relieved of reflux and gastritis.

My journey continued

The problem I learned from what followed is that h. pylori bacteria are opportunistic and only succeed when the environment is weakened as mine was. I was left at this point with a weakened immune system, along with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and overactive bladder, or possibly interstitial cystitis (I.C.). I really needed to find a cure but my doctors told me it is incurable. I also had a recurrence of prostatitis and I wasn’t going back to taking pharmaceutical drugs.

Also I soon developed gastroparesis, where you are nearly always nauseous because the food in your stomach does not leave soon enough. The only way to counter it is eat again and the new food in the stomach pushes out the old lot and you get relief for awhile.

I sought out medical help, though I did not want to take drugs. I was offered Iberogast, a herbal tonic, which is supposed to help but it didn’t. I found an integrative doctor who gave me some herbal pills but they didn’t work either.

The Promises of God Are Streams That Never Run Dry

Chapter I: God Is Still on the Throne

How sweet the memory—as a child when disappointments came
My mother’s faith and courage sweet, that put my own to shame.
For in the time of trouble deep my faith would weaken sore,
While hers just seemed to thrive on trials and only grow the more.
And then it was I’d hear her say as my doubts took to wings,
“Why—God is still upon the throne and prayer changes things.”

But, after years, I wandered from the shrine at mother’s knee:
For seeming wise and learned men had clearly shown to me
That such a simple, childlike faith was now quite obsolete,
Belonging just to ages past, today—for fools ‘twas meet.
“All this,” they said, “is only myth and from gross ignorance
springs,
That God is still upon the throne, and prayer changes things.”

Their way seemed well in weather fair but Oh! when troubles came
It didn’t meet the need at all—’twas such a futile game.
“Now just hold on,” the scoffer said, “there’s nothing else to
do.”
But that was just the trouble when there was naught to hold on to.
For I had lost the simple faith that such assurance brings,
That God is still upon the throne, and prayer changes things.

So I turned back with eager heart to the old-fashioned way:
And now I know that God is real, no matter what they say.
For better proof could not be had than truly answered prayer,
And answered too in such a way as to know—God is there.
And where is greater happiness than the peace that this truth
brings
That God is still upon the throne, and prayer changes things.

Delusions of Reprieve

Ryan12by Ryan Eamer

I wrote the following piece called Delusions of Reprieve in late 2008 in a mental hospital in Subiaco, Western Australia. The place served as a revolving door for me from 2007 through to 2013, sometimes seeing me admitted for months at a time. At this stage the only diagnosis of my condition was major depressive disorder with chronic insomnia. Ironically, I wrote this piece sitting up in bed on my laptop at 4 am.

In the Image of God…Male and female He made them

male-female-toiletDavid was born a male but for about a decade before his conversion to faith in Jesus Christ he lived as a female. He had the whole conversion as he describes HERE in his own testimony, and can be found on his own website.

In the beginning, at the Creation of the world, God made them male and female.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27

It was Adam and Eve. Eve was created by God from Adam’s rib, taken from his side. God created them equal, yet different, with different roles. Unfortunately, nowadays with a departure from the clear biblical teachings, gender identity has become a big issue for many in our society. Read Male and female He made them… where David’s doctor published David personal testimony of his trans-gender story and his restoration back to the man God had intended him to be.

David’s testimony is a clear indication of the power of God to regenerate and heal his creation.
