Israel of God

In a prophecy given by the prophet Hosea the Lord said:

Hosea 11:1  When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called My son out of Egypt.

flight-into-egypt-01The Lord refers, in the first part, to the nation of Israel, while in its infancy, God called out of the land of Egypt. But the second part is a prophecy of Christ Jesus, the Son of God who, in a parallel way, God also called out of Egypt. This happened after Mary and Joseph had taken the infant Jesus down to Egypt to protect Him from King Herod, who sought to kill Him. Only after Herod died did Jesus return to Israel from Egypt.

Matthew 2:15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called My son.

The nation called Israel really started with the conversion of Jacob to becoming a man of God. After his conversion God called him Israel. From him, i.e. his children, came the 12 tribes of Israel.

Do Shinto shrines resemble Israel’s tabernacle in structure?

by Toru Yasui

When I was a young child, I used to play on Shinto shrine grounds. I went there to catch cicadas in summer and gather nuts in autumn, in the thick woods surrounding the shrine buildings. I became a Christian in 1989, and since then have seldom gone to Shinto shrines. However, I happened to enter the grounds of a shrine in April 2016, when I was hiking down a mountain. Looking around, I was surprised, because I realized the structure of the shrine resembled Israel’s tabernacle despite the fact that it looked very Japanese.

Figure 1 is the photo I took then of the Amada Shinto shrine. Figure 2 is a bird’s eye view picture which was displayed at the entrance of the front building, from which we can learn about the structure. The peculiar gate (Fig. 3) which stands in front of the shrine represents the first border which separates the holy place from the secular world. Those who come to pray usually have to come through the gate and then wash their hands and mouths at the water place on the right hand side, called ‘Temizuya’ (Fig. 4). This reminded me of a verse in the Old Testament.

He put the washbasin (laver) between the Tent and the altar and filled it with water. …. his sons washed their hands and their feet there whenever they went into the Tent or the altar,  … (Exodus 40:30-32)

The front building is the worshiping place called the ‘Haiden,’ and the building behind the Haiden is called the ‘Honden’. Honden is the god’s throne, and a curtain separates the Honden and the Haiden. People are not allowed to enter the Honden.

Last chance: Biblical creationist tour of Israel

LAST CHANCE to join us! Only 4 months to go! To the start of the first ever biblical creationist archeological tour of Israel, to my knowledge anyway.

I have organised a small group of biblical creationist believers to tour Israel between May 20th and 31st this year (2016). It will be led by Dr D. Russ Humphreys (cosmologist, biblical creationist from the US) and myself. Apart from 12 days being guided by experts, with PhD’s in Israeli archeology, on Israel’s biblically relevant sites,  Dr Humphreys and I will speak to congregations of Messianic believers, and we have been invited to speak at believers youth and student conferences. Dr Humphreys and myself will also speak at a secular university it seems. Sounds like a blast. Much of the creationist teaching ministry will occur in the evenings and the tour of sites during the day.

DSCF1598Why don’t you join us? Tour cost is less than $1600 USD for most everything excluding airfares. If more join the price drops per person. The tour company is owned and operated by a biblical creationist family. Hotel rooms will be on a shared basis, or where you are a couple you have your own. So far we have 12 plus Dr Humphreys and myself, totaling 14 people. Why not join us? Dr John Baumgardner is also considering joining us. Please pray he does.

This offer to join us is open only to biblical creationist Christian believers. If you are interested add a comment below in the comment section with your email address, and I’ll get back to you.

Walk by faith and not by sight

In 2006 I was attending a theoretical physics conference in Madrid, Spain, when I started to experience some very strange, and I admit, very scary symptoms. On the second last day of the conference, after the lunch, served as a 3-course meal with a glass of wine, I started to feel dizzy and quite unwell. So I returned to my hotel and rested, as most people would under those circumstances, and by the morning I felt ok again. Then on the last day after the final lunch I started to feel much worse than the previous day, weak and fatigued, and dizzy with cold sweats. I managed to walk back to my hotel with great effort in taking each step. I remember the great difficulty in even walking up a few steps. I was really worried, especially when one of the servers at the lunch said to me that I looked terrible, that I was ‘white as a ghost’.

Me at the ancient street level along the wall of the Temple mount in Jerusalem.

As I laid there on my bed, in the hotel room, I thought about whether I should go to an emergency hospital in Madrid or try to survive (literally) long enough to get to Israel the next day as this was planned on my itinerary. I decided that I’d rather be in hospital in Israel than Spain. Even though I also had chest pains I believed that that was gastric reflux aggravated by the spicy food at the conference lunch. After the previous night the symptoms had subsided by resting and so I decided to just rest and get to the airport the next day.

At the airport, I recall, as I walked towards the departure gate, the cold sweat was just rolling off me and I did my best not to fall over from dizziness. I was still totally fatigued and it was so hard to pull my suitcase on wheels, but I tried to not look unwell as I wanted to get on that flight.

The great I AM born in a manger

Moses at the burning bush, when the great I AM called him.

Christmas time is when some celebrate the birth of Christ, the Saviour of the world, born in a manger, but do people know who He really is? (All bold are my emphases added. King James Version Easy-Reading Bible (KJVER) used unless otherwise indicated.)

In the book of Exodus chapter 3 we read about when God called Moses to lead the children of Israel out from under the oppression of the Pharaoh of Egypt.  The following is the English translation of the Hebrew text Exodus 3:13,14:

Christian Palestinianism: Replacement theology of the One World religion

Paul Wilkerson, at the 2011 The Berean Call Conference, exposes the diabolical ecumenical re-writing of God’s promise to His chosen people the Jews. It seems to be led by the Roman Catholics, with so-called evangelical Christians in bed with Islamic terrorists. Endorsed by Brian McLaren, the apostate from the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) (which teaches a political church on Earth). The agenda is one world, anti-Christ, Roman Catholic, anti-Semitic, socialist, communist, Islamist, devilish.

But the Lord says,

Thus says the LORD, which gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divides the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:  If those ordinances depart from before me, says the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me for ever.  Jeremiah 31:35,36

The sun, the moon and the stars will fail before God disinherits Israel.

Age of the Earth Creation/evolution hermeneutics History

Does the age of the Earth really matter?

From the following list, based on the biblical genealogies contained mostly in Genesis chapters 5 and 11, we can calculate the age of the Earth. Thus the Earth is only of the order of 6000 years old, not 4.6 billion years old as long-age-of-the-Earth deep-time evolution believers would have you also believe.Genealogies
The date of the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt is the key to getting this connected to our modern-day calendar. It is like an anchor point. However there are many conflicting theories on that date,1 but Scripture tells us that Solomon started to build his temple to God in the fourth year of his reign.

“And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.” (I Kings 6:1)

This is the key that unlocks a door. The verse also tells us that this was 480 years after the Exodus from Egypt. The dates for Solomon’s reign are generally assigned to 971-931 BC. From the date of Solomon’s fourth year of his reign (966 BC), one can add 480 years to 966 BC and get 1446 BC (the year of the Exodus).
