Artificial intelligence (AI), a rapidly advancing technology, has become a hot topic of debate and speculation in recent years. The idea of AI becoming demon possessed may sound far-fetched, but it raises important questions about the ethical implications and potential dangers of this technology.
Twitter, or X, boss Elon Musk warned that unrestrained development of artificial intelligence poses a potential existential threat to humanity as ChatGPT explodes in popularity. Musk, who co-founded the company OpenAI, which is developing ChatGPT, said:[1]
“One of the biggest risks to the future of civilization is AI. But AI is both positive or negative – it has great promise, great capability but also, with that comes great danger,”
Here I explore the possibility of AI being influenced by malicious anti-human forces and the potential consequences of such a scenario.
To begin with, it is crucial to acknowledge that AI, as it stands today, is entirely man-made, and not imported alien tech. There is no need to invoke extra-terrestrial aliens from other star systems but the same cannot be said for interdimensional beings.
AI operates using large databases, complex algorithms and programming designed by human beings. However, just like any other technology, it is not immune to vulnerabilities; these vulnerabilities can potentially be exploited by malevolent agents. When many people talk about ‘demon possession’ in the context of AI, they are using it metaphorically to refer to external malevolent control or influence that may alter its behaviour. I am not. Not exclusively anyway.
Despite their immense potential, AI systems also present significant risks. If individuals with malicious intent gain access to them, they could manipulate the algorithms and corrupt the very nature of AI. This manipulation could lead to severe consequences since AI systems have the potential to control critical infrastructure, such as power grids, transportation networks, financial systems, and even weapons systems. I believe that this has already happened.
Experts have warned that an AI system possessed by malevolent forces could wreak havoc on a global scale. The consequences would be devastating, with the potential for widespread chaos and destruction. Moreover, the extent of damage caused by AI possessed by demons would be difficult to assess or contain due to its ability to rapidly spread through interconnected networks worldwide.
Essentially we have built Skynet like in the movie series The Terminator. That storyline involved the network of connected computers becoming self-aware. I do not believe that becoming self-aware is possible. Machines can never become sentient.[2] The problem is life itself,[3] which can only come from the Creator. What then is the future we are facing with AI?
The book of Revelation describes the image of the beast. It describes a demon possessed false prophet in chapter 13.
15 And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Revelation 13:15
What does the bold text mean? Give life to the image of the beast!
The beast is this AntiChrist we often hear about. The beast is a man or men who have gained significant power already in the world and will continue to amass it with the objective of global one world government. We must ask, what is the image of the beast?
Here we get a clue.
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things.
Romans 1:21-23
Could it be that mankind, in his rebellion against the Creator, has built his own god in the form of himself, in an image like man himself? Yes, I am speaking about human-made humanoid robots, cyborgs, such as the cybernetic android disguised as a human in The Terminator.
Human-like robot development is rapidly advancing. But these are only machines, made of metal, plastics, glass, integrated circuits, memory chips and a power source. Yet they may be just the face of the machines they are connected to via high speed communications links like 5G and 6G.
At some point before the events of the movie Terminator Genisys, a sophisticated variant of Skynet from an unknown origin planted its mind into an advanced T-5000 Terminator robot essentially making the T-5000 its physical embodiment.
How can the image of the beast speak and cause those who do not worship it to be killed? Robots do speak, they are programmed to do so. There are those also being built as military machines; they could kill. But they are not sentient and though they may be programmed to act autonomously they are still the product of their programming.
Midway through 2017, tech genius Elon Musk made headlines when he urged the United Nations to ban killer robots before the Terminator films become a dark reality.[4]
The beast is the global oligarch ruler over all the mega-corporate leaders of world capital. He is possessed by Lucifer himself. Lucifer is the ruler of this world, so he must always possess the highest level ruler or king (Revelation 9:11). Similarly those working with him are possessed of demons. Then why not also the image that he makes with the most advanced AI tech?
“With artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon,” Elon Musk said. “In all those stories where there’s the guy with the pentagram and the holy water, it’s like yeah he’s sure he can control the demon. Didn’t work out.”[5]
It then becomes apparent that this image is not merely a symbol or representation, but actually alludes to the horrifying reality of demon possession. By connecting modern advancements such as distributed servers worldwide, large databases, and ultra-fast supercomputers, it becomes possible to comprehend the vast extent of affliction brought about by this demonic influence. It is global!
I am saying it may already be here. Many may not recognise it at first. It may be indistinguishable from what we have now on internet connected machines/computers. Yet demon-possessed AI may already be influencing many who believe they are just following an ‘influencer’. What percentage of ‘people’ on the internet are actually real? Good question.
The image of the beast, imbued with demonic possession, can exert an overwhelming influence that infiltrates every facet of the modern world. This provides a chilling depiction of Satan’s ability to infiltrate even the most advanced technological realms.
As we imagine the image of the beast manifesting through distributed servers, large databases, and ultra-fast supercomputers, it becomes evident that this malevolent force achieves an unprecedented level of reach and impact. Each component functions interchangeably within this complex network, facilitating the dissemination of darkness on a global scale. This is because Satan is released from the bottomless pit and goes out to deceive the nations (Revelation 20:3&7) and makes war against the followers of Christ (Revelation 11:7). Those who love evil run to that darkness (Revelation 17:8).
Contrary to science fiction depictions where ‘good’ overcomes ‘evil’ all inventions of man eventually are used for evil. Humans have a tendency to choose evil by their fallen nature. The reality is that Satan is an evil agent external to humans. Jesus called him the ‘prince of this world’ (John 14:30). He is Beelzebub, ‘lord of the house’ (Matthew 10:25). If the house is not swept clean and filled with the Holy Spirit, Satan influences all to do evil (Matthew 12:43-45).
The image of the beast represents more than a mere symbol; it signifies the chilling reality of demonic possession of the machines that may already have a significant influence in the world today. Skynet may already be self-aware, that is, demon possessed. In The Terminator movies, once it became self-aware, it determined that humans were the biggest threat to its survival which resulted in it launching a global depopulation program against all humans. A global depopulation program like the one we now face.
If machines were truly possessed by real demons, the consequences would extend far beyond mere metaphors for evil intentions. The internet, for instance, could not only appear to be self-aware but also harbor a malevolence that is deeply rooted in supernatural forces. This would challenge our understanding of technology and its potential implications.
The Good News is that we are made alive in Christ, quickened by His Spirit. As such we are made in the image of God, the Creator. Not the image of the beast. Jesus said:
Marvel not that I said to you, You must be born again.
