The Apostles’ Doctrine

We must look to the Apostles’ doctrine in the New Testament to understand the Old Testament. You cannot look to any man who might give a different interpretation of the gospel message.

Christian Zionism is a toxic doctrine that is now firmly entrenched in the Evangelical Corporate Church system. It represents (in its different forms) another gospel. It implies that the Lord God in Jesus Christ was mistaken when He destroyed the Jewish Temple and stopped its animal sacrifices.

Christ was the final sacrifice for all sin and thus the Temple became irrelevant, even an abomination. And He destroyed the Jewish 2nd Temple in 70 AD using His Roman armies.

Christian Zionists believe that the modern Zionist state of Israel is a miracle and was prophesied in Old Testament scriptures. Essentially, they teach that God recreated the Jewish state in these modern times, even after they crucified the Son on the cross at Calvary. They even financially support the rebuilding of the temple, the 3rd Temple, when they should know that Jesus Christ is the temple of God. Their actions mean they despise the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Their doctrinal error derives from reading OT prophesies about the restoration of Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile and applying them to the present time. They ignore all the New Testament scriptures, the teachings of Jesus Christ, about the new house of God built by Jesus, the chief Corner Stone. They ignore the Apostles’ doctrine which the Apostles learned from the Lord and is written in the New Testament.

When the Apostle Peter stood up and preached Christ to the crowd after Pentecost outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles, we read the following.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added to them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came on every soul: and many wonders and [miraculous] signs were done by [occurred through] the Apostles.

Acts 2:41-43 AKJV

I have capitalised the word Apostle in verse 42 and 43 to be clear that the text is referring to the Apostles of Christ, not just any apostles. See Acts 2:37.

Jesus declared His doctrine in the gospels recorded by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. But He also spoke through His chosen Apostles. The main teachings are found in the Letters and the book of Revelation in the New Testament. Particularly the Apostle Paul’s doctrine is where Jesus revealed to Paul the correct understanding of the Old Testament prophecies.

11 And, brothers, I make known to you the gospel preached by me, that it is not
according to man.
12 For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but by a revelation of Jesus Christ.

6 I marvel that you are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ to another gospel:
7 Which is not another [of the same kind]; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel to you than that you have received, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:6-9 AKJV

All these Christian Zionist prophecy teachers, like Amir Tsarfati, who teach another gospel to the gospel of salvation by grace regardless of ethnos are false teachers. They are teaching another gospel, a perverted gospel.

26 For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek [ethnos], there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:26-27 AKJV

All scripture must be interpreted in light of both Jesus’ doctrine in the gospels and the Apostles’ doctrine in the rest of the NT, which is revealed by revelation from Jesus Christ. If you go to the OT and do not use this guide you will get the wrong understanding, particularly on the teaching of salvation and redemption.

The correct understanding includes the fact that the only way to be children of Abraham is to be in Christ.

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. …
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He said not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to your seed, which is Christ.

Galatians 3:14, 16 AKJV

Read The Blessings of God on Abraham. All glory is to Jesus Christ! No glory is to the Jews’ religion.

13 For you heard of my way of life when I was in Judaism, that with surpassing zeal persecuted the Assembly of God and ravaged it.
14 And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age; in my race being
much more a zealot of the ancestral traditions of my fathers [Talmud].

Paul had studied the Jews’ religion, which is called Judaism but is not the Way of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul had followed the traditions found in the teachings of dead rabbis, like those found in the Babylonian Talmud. He was so zealous he murdered followers of Christ. He ravaged the assembly of believers in Christ. The Greek word used there has the meaning of fiercely attacked.

Judaism is false religion. It is not equivalent to the teachings of Christ. It led Paul to act in a very immoral way, even believing he was murdering followers of Christ for God.

The correct filter to interpret OT scriptures is the Apostle’s doctrine, not anything in the Jews’ religion, Judaism. We reject all Talmudic traditions and look at the OT through the lens of the new covenant in Jesus Christ.

We also reject any doctrine that says that Jews by national descent or by their ethnicity are privileged, chosen and will be redeemed despite their godlessness and rejection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made the same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in [pierced through] their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the Apostles, Men and brothers, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:36-38 AKJV

Whether you are of Israel or not, turn your heart to Jesus Christ, repent and be baptised, and you shall receive the Holy Spirit. What could be clearer than that?

    Dear Gideon, thank you so much for taking up this issue. It is essential this issue be tackled ‘head on’ for the sake of the Gospel. ‘Christendom’ has been blinded by lies and false doctrine by failing to ADHERE to the very words of Jesus, the very one of whom Moses (The Law) and The Prophets spoke of. ‘The Mystery’ or ‘Wisdom of God’ (1 Cor.2:7-9) was revealed to the great theologian and former Pharisee of Pharisees – the Apostle Paul who was set aside to comprehend the reality of and the implications of the New Covenant ‘in the light of’ the Old Covenant.

    Paul wrote to the Ephesians: ‘3 … by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief. 4 And by referring to this, when you read you can understand my insights into the mystery of Christ, 5 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now being revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in (by) the Spirit; 6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow-heirs and fellow-members of the body, and fellow-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel … (Eph. 3:3-19).

    The curtain to the Holy of Holies was torn apart from top to bottom as Jesus of Nazareth died on the cross and He called out; “It is finished”, thus allowing ALL who put their trust in Christ direct and immediate access to The Father’s presence. The 70 weeks for Daniel’s people (“your people”) was completed in AD 70 as Titus and his legions ransacked Jerusalem and the temple and carried away all those Jews, THIS generation, forty years later who had come into the city for that final Passover Festival in the spring and had failed to heed The Word of The Lord and flee the city (Matt.24) THAT was the final ‘End of The Age’ – the Mosaic Age, often referred to as “These Last Days” (Heb.1:2) – for THAT generation, from AD 30 to AD 70 which covered the time the New Testament writings were completed including The Revelation. The Bible or Testaments display Two Ages – 1. “This age which is passing away” in Paul’s, Peter’s and John’s day and immediate future, that is, The Mosaic Age, AND 2. The Age to Come (from the END of the Mosaic Age – AD 70) when the FULLNESS of the New Covenant Age was to come in.

    Promises and questions were posed through Isaiah the prophet: ‘Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once?’ (Is.66:8) These have nothing to do with ‘the birth of the Modern State of Israel! They pertain to and have EVERYTHING to do with the birth of the church on the Day of Pentecost.

    Not only are the likes of Amir Tsarfati teaching ANOTHER gospel to the Gospel of Salvation by grace REGARDLESS of ethnicity, they have ADDED to PAUL’S Gospel by insisting one cannot be saved UNLESS one ALSO supports the Modern State of Israel through prayer, financial giving (in particular for the building of the third temple along with animal sacrifices) and the provision of military armaments. They insist that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross ONCE FOR ALL is insufficient!

    Paul was clear: ‘As we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preach unto you any gospel other than that which you received, let him be anathema.’ (Gal. 1:9).
