Christian Zionism is the Problem

Christian Zionism is a Satanic doctrine because it supports Israel’s war against the indigenous Palestinians, by blending politics with distorted biblical beliefs. However I argue that true worship and salvation lie in Christ, not in political or ethnic identities.

According to the New York Times more than 80% of Jewish Israelis support the war on Gaza. Only about 9% oppose the war completely. Many of that fraction support the blockade of food and other humanitarian supplies into the Gaza Strip. Yet many Jews living outside of Israel oppose the war and any form of mass slaughter of the civilians, women and children, which we have seen on our phones daily since the war began.

I commend all people anywhere who oppose genocide of another people simply because they identify as some other race. I could never support any such war that shreds the most basic internationally recognized laws of this planet, to provide food, water, shelter and humanitarian assistance to those caught up in a war zone. In Gaza today food is being used as a weapon of war.

The US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee does not even believe that Palestinians exist. He says that they were never a people. Then who are the 2 million Gazans who are being forcibly uprooted from their homes and moved from one place in a devastated war zone to another?

The Grayzone journalist Max Blumenthal (who is Jewish) said that this is the biggest forced mass movement of Palestinians from their homes since the 1948 Nakba when 700,000 Palestinians were forced off their lands by the Jewish militias at the declaration of the Jewish state.

Jewish support for the state of Israel is not the problem here. It is the United States’ evangelical church, those who identify as Christian Zionists. They are the single biggest problem. Without that support there would be no war.

I can thankfully say that in all my 53 years as a follower of Christ I have never been a Christian Zionist. Those two words are an oxymoron. They should never be found together.

By following the perverted doctrine of John Nelson Darby and the Scofield Reference Bible the Christian Zionists have been led to believe that supporting the current state of Israel with the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple, where the Dome of the Rock now stands, and the reestablishment of Jewish temple worship will bring on the last days and the return of Christ.

They claim that the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt, that there will be a 7-year Great Tribulation period, the establishment of a world dictator out of Jerusalem, the AntiChrist, and the death of two thirds of all Jews (in Israel I believe). For this reason they seem to encourage war in the Middle East to bring on these events.

Of course they believe that they will be raptured up to heaven before the events get too hot and heavy and that they will not suffer through any of these expected events.

But their eschatology is completely false in my opinion. They have been completely hoodwinked by a false Satanic interpretation of scripture. Nearly every event in their expected timeline is completely bogus. I don’t even believe the millennial rule of Christ on the Earth after the final war of Armageddon and the return of Christ is a thing at all. It also is a misinterpretation of the scripture.

But the main point of this piece is that the problem in Israel/Palestine today is the doctrine of Christian Zionism itself.

I have read that there are 6 times the number of Zionists among Christians than among Jews. In the US alone there are at least 30 million Christian Zionists. They support the Jewish state, a state designed around an ethnic identity, which openly discriminates against the indigenous inhabitants of the Levant, the Palestinians.

Ironically those Palestinians may be genetically more Jewish than the imported Ashkenazi Jews from Poland and Germany, who appear to be very European. According to the Bible Ashkenaz was the grandson of Japheth and not of Shem.

Here is the problem. Jesus Christ died and paid the price of the atonement for all people who put their trust in Him. There is nothing left for us to do in that regard. Christ paid it all!

For that reason Christ sent His Roman armies in 70 AD and destroyed the Temple and Jerusalem. They are now irrelevant and have been replaced by Christ Himself. It is Christ worship that is important and not Temple worship or worship of the nation state of Israel.

In John chapter 15 we read that Jesus calls us to Himself, as He is the vine and if we live in Him we are in the Kingdom of God.

Temple worship has been replaced by the worship of God in Spirit and in truth (John 4:21-24). There is no preferred place to worship God. He is everywhere and all people of any ethnicity can find Him and worship Him. Anywhere!

Jerusalem has been replaced by Christ Himself and the coming New Jerusalem, the bride of Christ (Revelation 21:2).

The is no longer any Earthly city of Jerusalem. That was passed into oblivion. It is a relic of the old covenant which was fulfilled and completed by Jesus Christ’s death on the cross.

The beliefs of the Christian Zionists are Satanic. They are linked to the Jewish religion and the Satanic idea that there is something you can do to be saved, i.e. being Jewish affords you a little privilege

Those beliefs are contrary to the gospel message, that only through Jesus Christ can anyone find salvation (John 14:6).

    This message is much needed today.

    Prior to the founding of the modern state called Israel, the population included Christians, Jews, and Muslims – a people now displaced.

    The Kingdom of God has NOTHING to do with physical, earthly territory, no matter its name. It has NOTHING to do with the Old Covenant kingdom of Israel.

    One CANNOT enter into the Kingdom of God by guns and war.

    BOTH Islamism and Zionism are ideologies that are in error. Neither can be supported in any way. Both are violent. Both are supremacist. BOTH are NOT from above!

    Rather, it is by The Spirit and water and by being born from Above that one enters the Kingdom whether one is called a Jew or not. (John 3:1-18)

    Scofieldism has rendered the cross of Christ ineffectual to save, deeming salvation is dependent upon one’s works: of prayer for and support of the modern state of Israel.

    Whole Gentile nations are now believed to be subject to judgement rendered according to their treatment of Christ’s ‘Brethren’ (Matthew 25: 31-46) identified by Scofield’s dispensationalists as Jews. However, CHRIST identifies HIS brethren as being those NOT after the flesh, of his genetic family, but as those who were His DISCIPLES. (Matthew 12: 46-50)

    For Scofield, the heart of the whole of the biblical message is Israel and ‘the glorious future for Israel under the reign of Christ’. (Preface to 1917 edition p.x. The New Scofield Reference Bible, Oxford University Press, London, 1967.) In fact, Israel HAS replaced Christ. THIS is replacement theology!

    Yet, it is CHRIST that the Law and Prophets point to: The Lamb of God who ‘takes away the sin of the world’. ( John 1: 29) It is the promise of the Kingdom of God as Jesus declared: “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and put your trust in the Gospel”. (Mark 1:15)

    ISRAEL’S purpose was to bear and bring forth The Christ – The Messiah and to point to HIM as Lord and God, to declare HIM to the nations.

    It was NOT Christ’s purpose to extol Israel!

    Israel broke her marriage Covenant with God time and again. God was long suffering, receiving the harlot back to Himself over and over. Finally, when confronted by Jesus with the parable of the ‘Wicked Tenant Farmers’, the chief priests and elders declared their own doom and just end: “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will rent out the vineyard to other vine-growers … “. (Matthew 21:33-46)

    John the Baptist was to the point! Seeing the Pharisees and Sadducees, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? … and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you, that God is able to from these stones to raise up children to Abraham. And the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Matthew 3:7-12)

    The Apostle Paul was blunt! ‘Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does NOT say, “AND TO SEEDS,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “AND TO YOUR SEED”, THAT IS, Christ.’ (Galatians 3:16) ‘And if you are Christ’s, then YOU are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.’ (Galatians 3:29)

    Finally, Paul declares this: ‘For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the bondwoman and one by the free woman. But the son by the bondwoman was born according to the FLESH, and the son of the free woman through the PROMISE. This contains an allegory: for these women are two covenants, one proceeding from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar. Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.

    But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother. And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.

    But at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now.

    But what does the Scripture say?

    “CAST OUT THE BONDWOMAN AND HER SON, FOR THE SON OF THE BONDWOMAN SHALL NOT BE AN HEIR WITH THE SON OF THE FREE WOMAN”.’ (Galatians 4:22-31)

      Perfectly stated. Thanks for those comments. Why is it that so few in the evangelical church can’t understand this? Is it because Satan has blinded them to the truth of the gospel?
