Christian Zionists are the Modern Judaizers

Christian Zionism elevates the state of Israel above the gospel, misleading evangelical congregations into a belief in additional requirements for salvation. True belief centers solely on faith in Christ, not Judaic practices.

Christian Zionism is worship of the state of Israel. The picture above is a metaphor for that where the Israeli flag overshadows the cross of Christ in importance. The Zionist ideology has made it way into the weakened congregations of the evangelical churches and has become so rampant that most of those who attend such churches have no idea what the gospel of Jesus Christ truly is or who the true Israel of God are.

The false doctrine has made many churches into an evangelical cult of worship of the Israeli nation.

They have been indoctrinated to believe that Christ alone is not sufficient to save. So they have to add something extra and it becomes a Christ plus doctrine where you need to recognise that the modern nation called Israel is the reestablishment of ancient Israel, and that those who call themselves Jews in that nation are God’s chosen people regardless of their actions and their rejection of Jesus Christ as their Messiah.

The Judaizers in the assembly of believers was so bad in his time that the Apostle Paul wrote the following in his letter to the Galatians.

12 As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. 13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. 14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and on the Israel of God.

The modern Judaizers are these Christian Zionists who promote the rebuilding of the Temple and implementation of temple worship; or following the feast days and new moons; or circumcision and anything of the old law. All of their added Jewish teachings (Judaism) are meant to make the believer a bit more saved. But none of that is true.

No Judaism is needed. No Israeli or Jewish culture is needed for salvation. It is just the same as the Galatian Judaizers who promoted circumcision and law keeping to make sure you are saved. None of that is needed.

Christ alone is all that is needed. There is nothing else. All glory is to be given to Jesus Christ and Him alone.

Today, the nation of Israel is totally irrelevant to the gospel. Then who is the Israel of God that Paul mentions?

They are all those who trust in Christ alone. They are those who are children of God by faith in Jesus Christ.

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up to the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Why the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26 For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek [Gentile], there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

    Dear Gideon,

    You and those who stand with you on this issue are as significant as Luther was in his day.

    Luther wrote: “At last meditating day and night, by the mercy of God, I … began to understand that the righteousness of God is that through which the righteous live by a gift of God, namely by faith…”

    Stand fast!

    For years the intercessory prayer movement in Australia has been praying for revival. Revival can only begin with the reformation of doctrine. It is time for the evangelical church to eschew Zionism and repent, and to once again, trust SOLELY in the seed of Abraham – Christ – and HIM ONLY!

    Addendum.

    ‘Just as in Luther’s day, true Revival is predicated upon a return to Christ in the Scriptures and upon reformation of false doctrine.’

    Salvation and blessing are NOT grounded in acts of obligatory works of support for a modern political state (all driven by the fear of being cursed) in order to appease a vengeful god.

    Zionism does not save! Israel CANNOT save!

    It is good to remember the five solas of the Reformation, which distinguished the Reformers from the teachings of Rome, and which include sola scriptura (Scripture alone), solus Christus (Christ alone), sola fide (faith alone), sola gratia (grace alone), and soli Deo gloria (glory to God alone).

    These five statements of the evangelical faith lay at the center of what distinguished the theology of the Reformation from the theology of the Roman Catholic church in the 16th century. 

    Sola scriptura: the belief that because Scripture is God’s inspired Word, it is the only inerrant, sufficient, and final authority for the church. 

    Solus Christus: the assertion that Christ alone is the basis on which the ungodly are justified in God’s sight. 

    Sola fide: that maintains the believer receives the redemption Christ has accomplished only through faith. 

    Sola gratia: that proclaims all of our salvation, from beginning to end, is by grace and grace alone.

    Because of these things, the Reformers held fast to the phrase soli Deo gloria: only God receives glory for our salvation.

    Dr. Hartnett,

    You have dramatically overstated your case, brother.

    By no means do Dispensationalists require a particular view of the Israeli State to be saved. However, it seems you come very close to doing so yourself!

    Let’s preach the pure Gospel to sinners side by side–Amillennialists and Dispensationalists–as I do in this partnership every day where Christ is not known.
