One of the main objections that the materialists voice against the Genesis Flood is that there just isn’t enough water on Earth for a global flood that covered the highest mountains. But the same biblical history deniers claim that the planet Mars was inundated with water in same past epoch.
A recent paper, published in PNAS, titled “Ancient ocean coastal deposits imaged on Mars” reported as follows.
Various observations suggest that large amounts of liquid water once existed on the Martian surface, however, the nature and fate of this water are uncertain. Through radar data gathered by the Zhurong Rover, we identify extensive dipping deposits in the subsurface of southern Utopia Planitia. These deposits have structures similar to those of Earth’s coastal sediments. This finding implies the past existence of a large water body, supporting the hypothesis of a past ocean in the northern plains of Mars. (my emphases added)
Even if not a global flood on Mars they are claiming here that the planet has an ocean with sandy beaches. Possibly the Martians went to the beach in the holidays with their families to enjoy water sports. Perhaps cold weather sports as Mars would not have been as warm as Earth.
Mars expresses Earth-like geological features, seasonal cycles, and day–night rhythm making it a unique analog to the evolution of the Earth and informing the search for extraterrestrial life. Although the surface of present-day Mars is cold and dry (1), geological features such as valley networks (2), open- and closed-basin lakes (3), deltas (4), alluvial fans (5), pitted-cones (6), and sedimentary rocks (7, 8) support the prior existence of vast amounts of liquid water. (my emphases added)
Vast amounts of liquid water they write, when there is not a drop visible on the surface now. Mars even has a massive canyon covering half its face. A canyon suggest massive water flow.
See below for a comparison between Mars and Earth, the latter being the only planet in the universe where life is known to exist.
On Mars you can see Valles Marineris, a massive canyon system, stretching over 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles) long, up to 200 kilometers (120 miles) wide, and reaching depths of up to 7 kilometers (23,000 feet). It is the largest canyon in the Solar System and is often referred to as the ‘Grand Canyon of Mars’.
Yet the irony is that some unbelievers in biblical history say that in the past Mars was inundated with a global flood as evidenced by its surface features, yet they deny that a global flood could have ever occurred on Earth, which is covered in water.
Secular scientists admit that they do not really know how this massive canyon, some 60 times greater than Grand Canyon, could have formed.
Nevertheless, Mars has very little atmosphere and very little water (though not zero), which means there no life on Mars, even though Mars probes and rovers have been looking for it in vain. No water, no life!
But that is one of the main drivers in this sort of research. Extraterrestrial life!
What now they need to look for some water-sport loving aliens or at least their fossilised bones. Fossilised because they may have had a catastrophic flood that buried them in the sediments they have found.
One of the authors of that paper Dr Benjamin Cardenas from Penn State University added that the discovery had implications for understanding the past habitability on Mars.
“A beach is an interface between shallow water, air and land. It’s these sorts of environments where it’s thought life first came to be on Earth, and I think it would be a great place to send a follow-up mission looking for signs of past life,” he said. — msn.com
They bury their heads in the sands they have discovered on Mars while ignoring the overwhelming evidence of life on Earth and the past global Flood in Noah’s time as recorded in the book of Genesis. The fossil-filled sediments cover all the continents as testimony to the past catastrophe.
