In the video discussion I present evidence of the Earth’s magnetic field being a shield by the design of the Creator to protect life on Earth. The magnetic field intensity, its total energy, has been exponentially decaying since it was first measured by Gauss about 190 years ago.
Perturbations observed today, like the wandering of the North and South magnetic poles, and the South Atlantic Anomaly, are residual effects of the catastrophic disturbance of the outer iron-nickel liquid core of the Earth, which generates the magnetic field. In fact the the thermodynamic decay of the magnetic field strength is strong evidence in a favour of a creation date of the Earth much less than 10,000 years ago.
Due to the a finite electrical resistance in the outer core energy is exponentially lost to the mantle as heat and the field strength is systematically reduced. No dynamo to regenerate the magnetic field has ever been identified. It is just wishful thinking by old Earth proponents.
Another important aspect of this discussion is Carbon-14 dating. The magnetic shield of the Earth including the Van Allen belts provide protection to the planet from highly energetic cosmic rays. Those are actually high energy particles and when they collide with Nitrogen-14 molecules in the upper atmosphere they turn non-radioactive Nitrogen-14 to radioactive Carbon-14. The fact that all Carbon bearing minerals, whether from organic or inorganic origin, contain appreciable amounts of Carbon-14 means the Earth is young. The biblical Genesis creation timeline < 8,000 years is consistent with this fact.
