The Lord calls his followers to be faithful unto death, until we die in His service, proclaiming and defending the gospel. But how can we if we are so weak? Our God is faithful and He does it through us. All the glory to God!
I would often get up in front of large audiences to speak on biblical creation and origin issues, or on faults with atheistic or even theistic big bang thinking. I have been doing that in one form or another for 40 years now. But nearly every time before I get up to speak I am attacked by some spiritual forces trying to stop me doing it. Sometime this comes through my bodily weaknesses, and I feel sick, nauseated and sometimes I have had attacks like feeling feverish.
One time I was speaking in churches in Singapore and I was really attacked. I don’t know why, but I have had some strange experiences in Singapore. In 1977 when I was there for the first time I was just falling off to sleep one evening, and was sort of in that twilight stage (with endorphins just starting to kick in) when I felt something strangling me. I could hardly breathe. It was a bit fearful. And I heard a muffled nasty whisper as this was happening. I then rebuked the Satan in Jesus Name, and it stopped immediately. Thank the Lord He delivered and does always deliver.
Well this time, I got very feverish, and really battled it one night, really sick, before I had to speak in a church the next day. I was sick but went anyway and prayed that the Lord would give me grace. It seemed that He super-naturally empowered me, and I had no problem while I was speaking. The next day, after that, I had to speak in a very big church to several thousand, 4 times during the day, and I was really being attacked. So the first session, I got through ok, but then I had to ask for prayer, at the beginning of the 2nd session, and again each time during the day. It was a fight all day just to complete those 4 messages/presentations.
The responses by the congregations to the message was enormous, with thousands buying books and DVDs, that refute the lie of evolution and big bang etc. That is one way we can judge response, at these types of meetings. The book tables were utterly clogged.
All that to say, God wins, the Devil never does if we are faithful and true.
Believers should be faithful: faithful to the truth, holding it fast, striving for it, spreading it in every direction; faithful to conscience, listening to its dictates, observing its warnings, and obeying its demands; faithful to their profession, maintaining it, adorning it, and endeavouring to make it answer the end designed in it; faithful to God, believing His word, doing His will, suffering in His cause; faithful to sinners, warning them of danger, giving them the word of life, and leading them to Jesus; faithful to saints, reproving their sins, soothing their sorrows, and supplying their needs. “Be thou faithful unto death.” (Revelations 2:10). If it exposes you to death, be faithful: a crown of life is the reward. Until removed by death, persevere; then hear the Master call, “Come up hither.” — Daily Remembrancer November 6 Evening
