Street evangelism in Adelaide

The Apostle Paul argued daily in the market place, and preached the gospel of Christ.

Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him. Acts 17:17.

He spoke at Mars Hill and disputed with the intellectuals of Athens.

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, You men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are too superstitious. 23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions [objects of worship], I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore you ignorantly worship, Him declare I to you. 24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed any thing, seeing He gives to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply [perhaps] they might feel after Him, and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us: 28 For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like to gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at [overlooked]; but now commands all men every where to repent: 31 Because He has appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He has ordained; whereof He has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead. Acts 17:22-31 KJVER

But we don’t need a Mars Hill when we have a market place where people gather. Last night we went to Rundle Mall in the main shopping district of downtown Adelaide and spent hours presenting the gospel message to many. Especially we spoke to young students. I had Sunny and Shuman (shown below) with me, who are both from China, and we presented the gospel message to Chinese students using the Real History in Chinese Script tract.

Many showed a great interest in the message presented. One-on-one, or, as it was last night, two or three on two or three, is an effective and efficient way of sharing the essential truths of the gospel.

The time has passed where we might say we never knew. God will no longer overlook our ignorance. He now commands all men everywhere to repent and turn their hearts and minds to God. To seek Him! And if you trust in Him, He will give you His righteousness.

Christ is the Lamb of God; the ultimate and perfect sacrifice Who paid the debt we owed God for our sins. This is illustrated in the Chinese word for “righteousness,” made from a combination of the words for “me” and “Lamb.” Now, there is coming a day when God, through Christ, will judge the world wherein those who trust in Him will be saved. Call on God! Seek Him!

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

And God, through the Apostle Paul, said that He “…has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him [Jesus Christ] from the dead.” (Acts 17:31)  Thus we know when we are saved. This is not science nor religion but real life in Christ.
