If you believe God is in control of all events, of all the rulers in this world, then there is no need to worry regardless of your eschatological beliefs. I believe as many do that God is sovereign. That is, nothing happens outside of His will.

Satan, the prince of the air, rules through the kingdoms of men. But Satan is not omniscient or omnipotent. Only God has those qualities. Satan is a powerless punk by comparison to the Creator God of the universe. Nothing Satan does is outside God’s will, whether it is revealed or secret. Nor can it be.

God uses the evil ones like Satan and his followers to accomplish His will. God says:

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Isaiah 45:7

This verse does not mean God created the evil but that He created the people or angels who embrace evil. It means He created the agents, that with free will, who choose to do evil deeds. But God sees all things in space and time. He is omniscient. So He uses these evil characters to achieve His own will. That is especially true of Satan, who was once Lucifer the light bearer, the top angel in heaven.

Jesus is coming back to the world soon and it will not be as a “suffering servant” (Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:21–25) but as the “lion of the tribe of Judah” (Revelation 5:5). When exactly that is going to happen we do not know. But the scene is set in Revelation 13:

And he [the false prophet] causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six [666].

Revelation 13:16-18

Very rapidly that beast system is being put in place with digital IDs, digital currencies, and mass surveillance systems. Once they have that in place it will be very difficult to enter into a store to buy food. Some stores are already doing this where customers must sign in with a digital/biometric ID and pay with their credit card or digital cashless wallet.

So if Revelation chapter 13 and 14 is anything to go by, I say “bring it on”! The sooner the better. Revelation 14:1 tells us the Lamb of God stands on Mount Zion the heavenly city and calls His children who are sealed with God’s mark in their foreheads. Verse 14:3-5 tells us the redeemed, those who are ‘virgins’, meaning not defiled with the profane world, will be taken to God’s throne in heaven. This is another description of the resurrection of the believers.

So, I say, bring it on. The sooner Satan does his thing and brings in total control and mark of the beast (which is God’s will), the sooner the redeemed will ‘fly’. Actually I mean they will all be resurrected, caught up to heaven.

Directed to Mr. John Gideon Hartnett:

For almost seventy years, I have been a Catholic. In matters of religion, I have always believed as I was taught to believe. I have attended mass, said my prayers like a good little boy should do to please his precious mother, given alms to the poor and needy, as I was taught to do. I have always believed in the equality of mankind.
However, I was never perfect, and I carry the memory of more than my fair share of sins. I have lied, cussed, been drunk, and many more; but, I have never murdered. I thought about it. And I am truly sorry for them all.
I have read the Bible several times, the Book of Mormon, the, Books of Enoch and other writings. I have studied the Christian religion, as well as economics and politics.
Since the age of six, when I started to study religion in the Catholic schools, I have always had questions about certain things in the Bible. When I asked, these questions were never satisfactorily answered by the priests, nuns, preachers, or other commentators.
I have a degree in accounting from a major university in the United States. I do not consider myself to be smart or of high intelligence; I consider myself average.
Recently, I acquired a copy of “The Complete Works of Thomas Paine.” It contains all his political, theological writings; and his biography.
Included in his theological writings is one titled “The Age of Reason” and another titled “An Examination of the Passages in the New Testament Quoted from the Old Testament and Called Prophecies Concerning Jesus Christ” and miscellaneous other essays on dreams, Cain and Abel, etc.
I have read most of this work now, and I have read all of his theological writings. I started with his work called “The Age Of Reason.”
This theological work has answered many of my questions and more questions I never considered.
It has quit shaken, collapsed, and torn asunder most of the foundations of my religious beliefs found in the Bible. This includes Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the savior of mankind.
I still believe in God, and I hope for happiness after my death.
Am I going crazy in my old age?

Thanks for sharing your story. What you describe in your life is one of works. This is the problem of churches and denominations that emphasize works — be good, don’t sin, go to mass etc — to attain salvation, to get your “ticket to heaven”. But it is exactly opposite to the true gospel to the message that Jesus Christ God’s only begotten Son gave us through His blood shed on the cross. You can never be good enough to attain goodness for salvation. Even one tiny sin means you are guilty of all the sins of the moral law and since you are human, of the lineage of Adam, you, like all of us, inherited Adam’s sin, his rebellion against God. Only Christ has the way to salvation. John 14:6.

“But God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” Titus 3:5

There is nothing you can do yourself to be saved. Only Christ can save you. You put your trust in Him.

“For by grace are you saved, through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9

Then you have read books like “Age of Reason” which smacks of man trying to reason the whole scheme out for himself. It can never end well. The NT church was afflicted by gnostic thinking, esoteric knowledge, which is an attack on the true gospel. This is exactly the same today. And they “alien” being instead of little New Age gods from the spirit world. They try to make it sound scientific but it is the same demonic deception led by Lucifer, the fallen angel.

Do not be deceived! Repent, turn away your mind from that junk, that toxic stuff.

      Call out to Jesus Christ!

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
