My painting ‘Coming Up for Air’. It is based on NASA image taken from lunar orbit, but the size of the earth is greatly exaggerated.

On July 20, 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin (1930-) became the first humans ever to land on the moon. Then a while later Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the moon. As he took his first step, off the ladder of the Lunar Module Armstrong famously said, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”  But he misspoke that line. He was meant to say “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” The latter make more sense. If they never went to the moon and it was all filmed in a studio, why didn’t they just do a retake of that scene? They could have gotten that most famous line correct.

I know there are those who claim no man has ever landed on the moon. They even show a long (>1 hour) interview with Buzz Aldrin where they claim he said ‘It didn’t happen’ i.e. going to the moon. I have listened to that video and he doesn’t say that at all. He was answering some other question. The following is a 10 minute 2016 recording of Aldrin talking through the details of the moon landing.

In the Genesis creation account we read that God, the Creator, spoke into existence the heavenly bodies on the fourth day of creation.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament [Hebrew: raqia, expanse] of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light on the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament [Hebrew: raqia, expanse] of the heaven to give light on the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Genesis 1:14-19

Of course the most significant light is the sun. Without the sun life cannot exist. Nowadays the lunatic globalists (pun intended) want to extinguish the sun’s light to reduce so-called anthropogenic global warming. Total nonsense! The sun was created to provide a stable growing environment for life, which it has been doing for the past 6000 years.

The moon also is essential for life. The moon regulates the tides, provides light during the night and provides a force to regulate seasons on Earth. Plants even develop according to the lunar cycle.

The description above tells us God set the sun and the moon in the firmament. That word is translated from the Hebrew word ‘raqia’, which should be translated ‘expanse.’ The English word ‘firmament’, derived from Latin firmāmentum, was coined by Jerome in the Latin Vulgate Bible to render the Ancient Greek word στερέωμα (steréōma, ‘firm or solid structure’), which in turn translates to Hebrew רקיע ‎(raqia) (‘the vault of heaven’).

From the earth observer perspective, the heavenly bodies are seen across the sky. There is nothing solid about it. It is the language of placement of these bodies. What is interesting is that the moon was placed by the Creator in a near circular orbit at a distance proportional to the relative diameters of the moon and the sun. If the sun has a diameter 400 times the diameter of the moon, the sun is at a distance 400 times the distance of the moon from the earth. This means that in a total solar eclipse the disk of the moon exactly covers the disk of the sun. The match is not always perfect as the distance to the sun varies slightly in the annual cycle, but there are times when the match is almost perfect. Coincidence? Definitely not! It has meant that we can measure the distances to both these heavenly bodies.

So according to the Scripture when was the first moon landing? Here I define landing as ‘physically touching the moon’ in some fashion.

Look at this verse from the Psalms!

3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers [Hebrew: etsba], the moon and the stars, which You have ordained;

Psalm 8:3

God created the moon, which is specifically mentioned. It is a creation of God’s fingers. I bet you didn’t know He has fingers? The word is derived from the Hebrew word ‘etsba’ meaning ‘something to seize with’. So according to this God has touched the moon with His fingers. He did so to prepare the moon (and the sun) for the task of dividing the day light from the night light.

16 The day is yours, the night also is yours: you have prepared the light and the sun.

Psalm 74:16

Deduction tells us that the ‘light’ here is the moon. Both the day and the night belong to the Lord. He prepared (Hebrew: ‘kuwn’, erected, set up) the moon in the heavens for this purpose. Thus we can deduce God Himself was the first ‘being’ to touch the moon.

Ok, God is omnipresent, He’s everywhere. That’s true. But He has a theophany, a God body. He walked with Adam in the cool of the day.

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

Genesis 3:8

Adam and Eve hid themselves from God, which means they perceived He was there in a bodily form. If they believed He could see them in every place why would they have tried to hide?

So I conclude the LORD, that is YHWH our God and Creator, was the first to physically touch the moon, long before Armstrong and Aldrin.

And if they never actually landed on the moon why was the story that Aldrin took communion and prayed even a story at all because it caused a problem at that time.

Before Armstrong and Aldrin stepped out of the lunar module on July 20, 1969, Aldrin unstowed a small plastic container of wine and some bread. He had brought them to the moon from Webster Presbyterian church near Houston, where he was an elder. Aldrin had received permission from the Presbyterian church’s general assembly to administer it to himself. In his book Magnificent Desolation he shares the message he then radioed to Nasa: “I would like to request a few moments of silence … and to invite each person listening in, wherever and whomever they may be, to pause for a moment and contemplate the events of the past few hours, and to give thanks in his or her own way.”

The Guardian

Now let me add one more scripture to this.

1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars:

Revelation 12:1

The woman here in Revelation 12 represents to the ekklesia, the called-out body of believers in our Lord. She is metaphorically shown standing on the moon. This was long before Armstrong and Aldrin but even long before Jesus walked the earth in human flesh. We know this because from this woman is born Jesus Christ, whose birth we celebrate each year at this time.

I thought you might like that one. For more on this woman please read my new book Apocalypse Now: On the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

  1. There’s indeed a controversy whether Armstrong left off the indefinite article before man. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2012/aug/25/neil-armstrong-moon

    1. Very speculative! I wouldn’t believe hardly anything of that though there may be an element of truth in there.

//According to many researchers, exactly 33 minutes after landing on the Moon’s surface, Buzz Aldrin performed a ritual inside the lunar module. Officially, Aldrin was taking Communion before leaving the module to explore the Moon’s surface.//

There is a big conflict there. Others report they waited 5 and a half hours before they left the LEM. Aldrin is a Presbyterian and could also be a Freemason but it was holy communion he took before leaving the LEM. His prayer is what caused a stir as he was broadcast live at the time.

//However, the rite of Communion dates back beyond the Catholic Church to ancient Egypt.[7] This ceremony has its roots in the secret societies that existed during that time and ultimately—according to many researchers—spawned the lodges of Freemasonry around the world today.

The act of Communion is essentially an offering to Osiris. It is claimed by those who subscribe to the conspiracy theories that the Freemasons “hijacked” the mission and that Aldrin performed the ritual for this very reason..//

Total nonsense! Communion is from the NT. Clearly written to do as Jesus did. That website is a purveyor of nonsense.
