Beginning with the first assemblies of believers in Christ there appeared false teachers and false apostles who entered into the ‘church’, the congregations newly forming at that time. They had the appearance of being Christian but they were deceivers leading the flock of God astray. From the first century the cult of the false apostles developed. This is what we call churchianity today.
Why did Jesus say?
21 Not every one that said to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name have cast out devils? and in Your name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.
Matthew 7:21-23
The first century assembly of Christ was afflicted with false believers, and false teachers. In regard to the assembly at Ephesus, a source of missionary activity at that time, Jesus said to His true followers there:
2 I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and how you can not bear them which are evil: and you have tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars:
Revelation 2:2
There were evil liars who claimed to be apostles. The word ‘apostle’ is translated from the Greek word ‘apostolos’ meaning an ambassador of the gospel. These people were pretenders, who tried to get into positions of power and leadership in the assemblies of believers. Jesus says they are liars, deceivers, which is an attribute of Satan.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming [disguising] themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15
The Satanic cult false apostles of churchianity preach a false message which is not the gospel. It is usually about self, to become prosperous and wealthy in this world. It is the opposite message to that which Christ preached.
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14 If you be reproached [insulted, defamed] for the name of Christ, happy are you; for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.
1 Peter 4:13-14
The Apostle Peter speaking under the authority of the Holy Spirit told us to rejoice as we suffer for Christ sake. This is far from the prosperity gospel of the mega Corporate Church industry. The leaders there peddle a different gospel to that of Christ.
18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
Philippians 3:18-19
The cult leaders teach a false gospel, which focusses on earthly things. But we seek a heavenly kingdom, not an earthly one.
20 For our citizenship is in Heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform the body of our humiliation, for it to be conformed to His body of glory, according to the working of Him to be able even to subject all things to Himself.
Philippians 3:20-21 KJ3
One aspect of the false gospel the cult leaders push today is the pernicious (greatly injurious) teaching that the flesh and blood Jews are God’s people, irrespective of their beliefs.
A corollary to that is that the land rights to Palestine were eternally gifted to the offspring of Abraham, irrespective of their faithfulness. Read The Blessings of God on Abraham.
The first part is antithetical to the true gospel of Christ. There is no distinction between Jew nor Greek (meaning Gentile, any other ethnicity), in relation to the gospel (Galatians 3:26-28). Read The True Israel of God.
The second part has led to the various forms of so-called Christian Zionism, which is really an oxymoron, because there is nothing in common between Christ’s teaching and Zionism. See my references here for Christian Zionism.
One comment on this here is that if it was not for the more than 30 million Christian Zionists, who far outnumber the Jewish Zionists (and not all Jews are Zionists), there would be no state of Israel today. This highlights how pernicious a doctrine it is.
The true gospel of Christ is often sidelined to these false doctrines involving anything but the teaching of trust in Christ alone and no other. Liberty in Christ follows from the fact that there is no ethnicity in the kingdom of heaven. There are no privileges or rights derived from who or what you are. There is no racism in Christ. The gospel is free to all those who seek Christ. The reward is eternal life and it is without precondition.
All humans have sinned against God and deserve death in hellfire. But through Christ we can be made free from sin and death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:22-23

There are a lot of sincere folks that are in different groups and church systems. Sadly most are run by folks in it for “what they can get”. Your article hits home about why it’s so important to stay close to the Lord and His Word. Good Stuff. God Bless & Keep You Old Friend. Forever thankful for you and your faithfulness.

Jesus was sent as an ambassador and the Father’s delegate. He was truly the first apostle, not only in time but in priority. In fact, the epistle to the Hebrews makes this clear when it describes Christ as, “the Apostle and High Priest of our confession.” (Heb. 3:1). I wonder how many (so-called) “Christians” have actually heard the words of Christ, having ears to hear, in perfect harmony with the word “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” From the same chapter: “How then can they call on the One in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can they preach unless they are sent?” Who are the ones who are “sent”? They are the true apostles, the true ambassadors. They are from the Father and the Son. Has their mission and ministry been undermined by belief in false words? “Luke 18:6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”
