In the field of my study, physics and cosmology, there has been a lot of discussion on the multiverse, parallel universes, and even the idea that we live in a simulation, like in the movie the Matrix. So the real title question here is, are each of us living on one of many branches in a set of parallel universes?
In this post I am philosophising much more than I normally do, while engaging in some speculation.
This subject is not about a multiverse but a hyper-verse of separate universes existing within the same space and time. In such a situation you could even say all universes occupy the same space in a higher dimensional hyperspace. Have I lost you yet?
The idea is found in many science fiction books and movies but it is also studied by theoretical physicists as a possible explanation of events in the real world. What if it is a real thing? Not within a physical hyperspace, but within a spiritual one.
This idea involves the decision making process. Some quantum mechanical theorists suggest that every time a decision is made a new universe is created, one with the decision taken one way, and the other with the decision taken the other way. So you end up with an infinite set of parallel universes.
Suppose that there exists two parallel universes occupying the same space and time. In one universe, for example, the white is white and black is black, but in the alternate universe, white is black and black is white. These black and white colours are placeholders for the issues people perceive in the world around them, upon which they make decisions.
As we all live our lives we traverse space and time. We each make decisions, based on what our senses tell us as we interact with the world.
The model suggests as we make those decisions, which are really binary at some base level, we stay in one universe, or jump to another. Each time we make a different decision we cross into a different universe, and as a result the number of universes grow. These may be shared with many other travellers, with whom we easily identify. Or they may be so totally different that we cannot even perceive those on an alternate trajectory. No matter what you say to them you will never communicate even though speaking a common language.
It is as if different people live in a universe with a different phase to another. Phase means physically the laws are the same but they are not in the same channel of perception.
People often talk about frequencies, but phase is the best description. It is like the dichotomy of +1, and -1. The magnitude of the numbers is the same but the sign is opposite. Well, between +1 and -1 you can have an infinite number of complex numbers with a different phase but with the same magnitude of 1. Their phase represents a rotation in complex space.
Have you ever tried to convince someone that their government has been actively trying to kill them with a toxic shot they called a COVID vaccine and you just were met with a blank stare? It was a total wall as if the listener could not actually comprehend the meaning of the words you were saying. Has that happened to you?
Such questioning could involve almost anything. There are often very fundamental questions that people totally disagree on. Within biblical and spiritual beliefs such divisions exists also.
Some Christian might quote Romans chapter 13 and say that we must obey the government as it is ordained of God. The opposite view is to not obey the government because they have broken their trust with the governed and acted for evil instead of for good. And a total dichotomy manifests.
Ask the question why did so many go along the COVID narrative, complying with mandates on masks, lockdowns, separation, isolation, PCR testing and vaccines? It did not seem to matter if you were a believer in Christ, a Christian, a Muslim or a Jew. It cuts across all faiths and religions.
Most people who claimed faith complied and I mean actively believed the lies told by government stooges. There were however a small number who didn’t. Those who didn’t were also of other spiritual beliefs, spiritualists and more.
The way two entwined parallel universes might work is that those who can see in one universe are totally blind in the other. Therefore there is no convincing one to cross over if they are totally committed to the other universe. But some can cross over, and this occurs when the two universes meet or cross momentarily. Beyond that you will never convince the other who is of the opposite belief to you.
Some will go through one door, others never will.
This is not a lack of knowledge. However it is true that a lack of knowledge can cause people to perish.
This is something else.
During 2020 a minority of people knew immediately that COVID-19 was a scam. They needed very little convincing. They were traveling in one universe. Then there was the majority, who like sheep, never questioned anything. They were traveling in the alternate universe. There were a few who were unsure, and were travelling in the alternate universe but as the universes crossed these people woke up and eventually came across to our universe.
I wondered many times why there was this division of understanding. I thought it might be due to spiritual revelation, enlightenment of the heart provided by God. But some who were awake were not even believers in God. Though they all seemed to believe in evil and Satan.
And it does not end there. What about those you thought were fully awake to the government tyranny under the faked COVID pandemic but turned out to be totally blind to the faked manmade global warming catastrophe? Robert F. Kennedy Jr is a notable example.
Consider only these two issues for the moment. I have assigned numbers to them:
- +1) means fully awake to the tyranny under the faked COVID pandemic;
- -1) means totally blind to the COVID tyranny;
- +2) means totally awake to the faked manmade global warming scam;
- -2) means totally blind to the global warming scam.
If you consider only these two issues there become 4 permutations that people could follow. The labels +1, -1, +2, -2 can be arranged as (+1,+2), (+1,-2), (-1,-2) and (-1,+2). Each group puts someone into 1 of 4 separate universes. But each person only perceives his/her own universe, and sees only the colours in his/her universe.
Why does it happen like this? And I am not suggesting only these two issues.
There are many major issues today that divide people into groups or tribes. More examples include, men can have babies, you can choose your own gender, sterilize your trans child to save them, obey your government, genocide in Gaza, the Ukraine war, all vaccines are safe and effective, all elections are honest and fair, all life on Earth evolved from pond scum, aliens are visitors from other planets, carbon dioxide is a pollutant, the deep state didn’t kill President John F. Kennedy, all wars are righteous, etc.
The most important issue of all is the salvation of our souls by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. All those other issues pale in comparison. This was a matter I spoke about to my own mother for 50 years but to no avail. She could not understand me. Then in September 2023, at the age of 92, she called me to tell me: “I get it!”. It was by revelation in her heart Jesus Christ showed her the Truth. Instantly she crossed into my universe.
There is only One who lives outside of all these parallel universes. He is the Creator of all things, even of our minds. Our minds, really our hearts, are the centre of our souls which create these universes. All sentient beings are travelling in one of these parallel universes, and there are many. Only one omnipotent omniscient God is outside of all space and time. He sees all and knows all.
There is the suggestion that God by His choice puts a person into one of these many universes. That is, it is not even the individual’s decision, even though he/she thinks it is.
For this reason there is much debate on the sovereignty of God over individual human choice. Even that is one of these issues — free choice or election.
On this subject the Lord spoke through the Apostle Paul.
6 It is not, however, that God’s Word has failed. For not all the ones of Israel, these are of Israel, 7 nor because they are Abraham’s seed are all children, but “In Isaac a Seed shall be called to you.” (Gen. 21:12) 8 That is: not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed. 9 For the Word of promise is this, “According to this time I will come, and a son will be to Sarah.” (Gen. 18:10) 10 And not only so, but also Rebekah having conceived by a man, our father Isaac. 11 for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of the One calling, 12 it was said to her, “The greater shall serve the lesser”; (Gen. 25:23) 13 even as it has been written, “I loved Jacob, but I hated Esau.” (Mal. 1:2-3) 14 What then shall we say? Is there not unrighteousness with God? Let it not be! 15 For He said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will pity whomever I pity.” (Ex. 33:19) 16 So, then, it is not of the one willing, nor of the one running, but of the One having mercy of God.

From this text it is made clear that God chooses whomever He will and it is His decision alone. It does not depend on the one willing to choose but on the choice made by God. God chooses who are in the true Israel, not those who are born of some lineage, according to the flesh, but of those He chooses to include in His new spiritual nation.
But there are decisions people make to receive or not receive the truth as presented to them by God and depending on their choice, they might be filled with either strong delusion or the light of God’s knowledge.
10 And with all delusion of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 AKJV
Because certain people do not receive the truth as given by the Lord, He sends them strong delusion to believe something that is not true, but a lie. So from this we have to conclude that everyone makes decisions based on the information presented to them. They are responsible for that decision.
I would then contend that people can and do make decisions to turn from the sound teaching on any subject and believe in fables or myths.
3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV
All these myths are truisms for those who believe them. That is, it is so obviously true to them that anything you might say to the contrary is heard as “blah @#$%%^&*@#$%^* blah …”, that is, as spoken in an unknown language.
You might try to convince them otherwise but what you say will be perceived in a different universe where the language you are using has a different interpretation.
This might answer why people become so divided by their belief systems. They may appear visually to be in the same universe as you but they are not.
Then it comes down to the question: Is there such a thing as absolute truth? Truth that is not relative only to a listener but to all.
Many people love to quote John 8:32 but read it in context.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed; 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31-32 AKJV
To be a disciple is to follow Jesus Christ. To continue in or remain in His word means to study and follow what Christ was teaching, which is the whole message He delivered to the Jews.
Christ’s statement here then is not some generic statement about finding truth and freedom. No, it is not found in discovery of some ‘truth’ which could be for many people one of these hot button issues or conspiracy theories.
Many of the dividing issues may not be debated because of the separation of people into different parallel universes where they cannot even perceive the meaning of the words spoken by someone else. For example, when Pilot asked Jesus what did He do to deserve to be killed by the Jews.
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom was of this world, My servants would have fought that I might not be given over to the Jews. But now My kingdom is not from here [this world]. 37 Then Pilate said to Him, Therefore, then are you not a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this purpose I have come into the world, that I might witness to the Truth. Everyone being of the Truth hears My voice. 38 Pilate says to Him, What is truth?
John 18:36-38 KJ3
Pilot had no idea what He really said because he was not in the same universe, he was not given the spiritual understanding by God. At the end of the conversation Pilot didn’t know what truth was, even though Jesus told him.
Pilot was thinking in the physical/earthly but Jesus was speaking of the spiritual realm. Only through Christ can anyone find the real spiritual absolute Truth and those only can learn that through Christ’s teachings. Those who know the Truth hear His Voice. No exception.
I would have to conclude that most who claim to know, do not. Even many in the so-called freedom movement do not know the Truth because they do not hear His Voice. Those who do not hear His Voice are not in the same universe as those who do.

Totally agree that only those that hear His voice are part of the true universe. I hear His voice in my heart. Also never got close to believing in Covid even though I did get very sick and per my blood test I have “covid antibodies.”

I’ll use alfpedro’s post to lead into another point that has long bothered me, and you too have said something on the matter, and it simply does NOT jive with me. Please assist me understand what I might be missing. Here it is.
There are a lot of discussions, equations about the redshift of stars, galaxies induced by Doppler frequency change due to the motion of stellar objects. And so, the reasoning goes, as these objects move away (or towards) the earth (and us, the measurers) they do so with a certain velocity, and thus the light, photons emitted from these objects undergoes a redshift (or less frequently, blue shift). Then, to help readers understand, the author typically falls back to the typical train whistle frequency as it approaches a person stand on the platform hearing the whistle. As train approaches station, the perceived tone increases in freq, and while the train recedes the tone decreases in freq. And thus it is proposed that the same thing happens with light from stars, galaxies as they recede from the Earth. (As you clearly know, I am NOT speaking about redshift proposed due to space itself stretching.)
Here is my problem:
If the velocity of light c is NOT affected by the velocity of the object FROM which the light is being emitted, how then will its frequency (or wavelength changes) change, being that light does not need the medium (space) for its propagation, though which the object is moving? Which of course is different for sound waves that DO need the medium.
In other words, I am thinking the two cases are not equivalent. What am I missing?

There is discussion in particle physics about how photons move through the ether/the vacuum of space. The idea is that they are travelling through a medium, the substratum of space.

So if we can understand what that medium is, then there is in principle no difference. But there are many unanswered questions still.

Is it then your understanding that the redshift observed is predominantly due to the velocity of the object?

Not at all. There are many possible redshift mechanisms. Doppler motion through space is only one of them. I believe it is valid only for small motions of galaxies within their clusters.
I do not believe that there is any way to definitely determine the major cause of cosmological redshift. As I explained in the referenced paper the alleged expansion of space cannot be measured. So that may not be the cause, especially if the universe is not expanding.
My work with Chris Fulton and Halton Arp indicated in addition to the cosmological redshift a strong intrinsic redshift component in quasars, but we have no mechanism to what causes that.
There also we allowed for a local Doppler redshift for the ejection velocity from the parent galaxy.
Sorry I cannot give an answer.

It’s always been interesting for me why two people, including people who love each other such as a husband and wife, can look at the same situation and have two totally opposing viewpoints about it. It all has to do with perceptions. Stephen Covey in his book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People says people see things differently based on their own perceptions, the lens of their biases. We tend to see the world not necessarily as it is, but as we are and people, our interpretation of it, our perceptions. Governments use that to their advantage.
Perception management is a term originated by the US military. The US Department of Defense (DOD) gives this definition:
Actions to convey and/or deny selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning as well as to intelligence systems and leaders at all levels to influence official estimates, ultimately resulting in foreign behaviors and official actions favorable to the originator’s objectives. In various ways, perception management combines truth projection, operations security, cover and deception, and psychological operations. — Quoted from Wikipedia.
Another point: The Scripture says in Galatians 3:6: Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Inversely, those who don’t believe God’s Word in the Bible, the Lord attributes that for unrighteousness. John 3:36b …he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. What we believe is based on who we are, what we perceive to be true or false. People who don’t recognize their own sins and shortcomings are people not seeking salvation. They are people who either don’t read the Bible or who reject its doctrines. And why? Pride and arrogance, their own sinful human nature which they don’t recognize. The standard of what’s right and wrong is all written in the Bible. Those who believe and accept what the Bible says will of course see the world differently than those who reject what the Bible has to say. The unbelievers judge themselves by their own standards of righteousness – self-righteousness.
