The following is a letter sent to me from a friend. Please take note of her perspective. (I did not write this letter but I agree fully with her views.)

Dear Friend,

At the close of the 1970’s, a tyranny of silence was imposed upon traditional conservatives and Islamic dissenters. Iranian fundamentalists invented the term ‘Islamophobia’

The term was worthy of totalitarian propaganda with the aim to declare Islam inviolate. It denied the reality of an Islamic offensive in Europe, the West and elsewhere. It attacked secularism, and above all, it silenced all Muslims who questioned the Koran, who demanded equality of the sexes, who claimed the right to renounce religion, or who wanted to practice their faith freely and without submitting to the dictates of ‘the bearded and doctrinaire’.

Most of us have comprehended the threat.

Yet, we have all, wittingly or unknowingly, been ‘caught-up’ or ‘captured’ by another supremacist doctrine in some way.

And so, whilst I in no way have ever endorsed Islam but have instead with all my strength sought to expose its lies, I will be charged with yet another thought crime for writing and sending this to you:

I have quoted Chuck Baldwin who writes much better than I ever could.

‘Virtually all of the errant teaching within evangelicalism stems from the infatuation with Israel-based prophecy.’

For Chuck, 80% of evangelicals are immersed in Israel-based eschatology via their acceptance of Scofield’s Dispensational Futurism.

Yet, to have sincere questions regarding the ‘Modern State of Israel’ is NOT akin to endorsing Islam in any way WHATSOEVER!

To begin, the modern state of Israel is NOT the equivalent of The Kingdom of Heaven or of God! Jesus was QUITE clear: He said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now, my kingdom is from ANOTHER place.” (John 18:33-37)

Prior to His execution, Jesus had declared in His parable of The Wicked Tenants of His Vineyard, that they would kill and throw out The Son in order that they would have His inheritance.

But, as the chief priests and elders of the people themselves so rightly judged, The Owner of The Vineyard would: “Put those wretches to a miserable death and let out The Vineyard to other tenants who will give Him the fruits in their seasons”.

Jesus said to them,

“Have you never read in The Scriptures: “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone … therefore I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits.

And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him”.

Matthew 21:33, 46

The Modern State of Israel was founded with the backing of the trillion-dollar,  Ashkenazi-Jewish, Rothschild family that decided to create their own country. In 1917, the Rothschild’s used their money, power, and influence to strike a secret deal with the British government for the establishment of the modern state with the name Israel.

That this modern state uses the NAME ‘Israel’, DOESN’T make it Israel!

Apostle and theologian Paul made no bones about who WAS Israel, writing: ‘So then, those who are OF faith are blessed along with Abraham … and, ‘Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring (seed).

It does not say, “And to offsprings”, referring to many, but REFERRING TO ONE, “And to your offspring”, who is CHRIST.’ (Galatians: 3:7,16)

The Scriptures are clear! The seed of Abraham IS Christ. Those who are IN Christ, are OF the faith of Abraham.

It was also Rothschild influence and money that spawned the Scofield Bible with bible footnotes that popularized dispensationalism, first appearing in 1909.

The propaganda AND misinformation in this so-called bible has influenced the thinking of Evangelical Christians ever since, and is responsible for the replacement of Christ with and by the modern state of Israel.

The KEY point that Chuck Baldwin, and those of like mind would stress, is that: As it was in the New Testament era, so it is today.

‘Judaizers are the arch enemies of freedom, whether that freedom is civil or spiritual.’

Despite clear teaching in numerous places in Scripture that, ‘Not all Israel IS Israel’, Christian Judaics have risen up to attack those who highlight false doctrine.

However, Jesus was clear on this! When someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.” Jesus replied, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”

He pointed to His DISCIPLES and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers”. (Matthew 12:47-49)

Jesus did not declare those of His earthly genetic heritage to be His brothers, but those who loved and followed HIM – those who were born from ABOVE – born of the Spirit, not of bloods, nor of flesh nor of the will of man – just as He was.

‘After the Holocaust, world leaders including those in Christendom agreed, “Never again.” After Rwanda, they said, “Never again.” But when an ancient Christian community was driven out of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan last year, the world’s great powers did little more than issue press releases.

A nine-month blockade that began in December 2022 had prevented food, medicine and other resources from reaching the besieged community, and as the Azerbaijani army encircled the remnant Armenian forces in the self-described Republic of Artsakh, no power deemed it their responsibility to protect the Armenian population. Based on painful past experience, the Armenians knew it would not be safe for them to remain, and so, a sorrowful caravan of more than 100,000 Armenians in cars, vans and horse carts trailed out of the enclave. Over the course of a few days in September last year, the desperate exodus put an end to an Armenian and Christian presence in the mountainous region that had been constant for more than 2,000 years.

Essentially, the entire Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh fled the enclave. Perhaps 20 Armenians, too elderly or too disabled to leave, remained.’

So, while ‘Never Again’ rallies and daily front page headlines highlight the events of the last year in Israel, the world, and the church ‘at large’ is silent about the fate of those Christ calls His brothers and sisters – HIS PRECIOUS CHOSEN PEOPLE. This is ‘the story’ of Christians.

Consider those in Nigeria. “Millions of Christians are displaced … Millions of Christians are displaced in Africa. The news doesn’t care about it, politicians don’t talk about it, governments don’t talk about it, global politics don’t talk about it. Nobody talks about it.”

‘Last year, and for many years, more Christians were killed for their faith in Nigeria than the rest of the world combined. The same violent persecution is quickly spreading across other parts of sub-Saharan Africa, as Islamic extremist ideology spreads. As well as these murders, huge numbers of believers are injured, abducted, sexually assaulted or forced to flee from their homes.

The motive of Islamic militant violence like this is clear: to destroy as many Christians and Christian communities as possible. “This attack is because we are Christians,” says Pastor Barnabas. “When they come to attack us, they call us ‘capari’. It means you don’t have any religion.” The militants don’t value their lives, because they are considered infidels.

There are 16.2 million Christians across sub-Saharan Africa who could share their own painful stories. This violent displacement is an escalating crisis that needs an equally urgent response.’ https://www.opendoorsuk.org/news/latest-news/arise-africa-barnabas/

Chuck Baldwin is quite blunt: ‘Christians are commanded by our Lord to be busy preaching the Gospel, building and edifying the Body of Christ and being the salt of society, “bringing the nations to the obedience of faith.” (Matthew Henry, 1662 – 1714)

However, especially since 1948, Prophetic Dispensationalists have been busy watching Israel as the great sign of ‘the Rapture’.’

There is NO promise of blessing for those who bless the MODERN state of Israel. The FEAR of being cursed by God if one does not, is what drives many in Christendom today, just as the fear of death by the sword keeps many enslaved to Islam.

Supremacist and totalitarian regimes use fear to enforce conformity and compliance, fear of death and fear of being pushed to the margins of family and society as out-castes. And yet, our God is Love.

And this from David Sorensen:

‘Any doctrine, teaching, belief or dogma that makes the children of God less effective in this world is diabolical, no matter how many ‘popular preachers’ are promoting it from their platforms.

For God never gave the wicked any authority, mandate, crown or sceptre to rule on Earth. Everything they do is illegitimate. God gave this world to His children, and gave us His Spirit, His blessing, His presence, His mandate and anointing to save it from destruction.’

How demonic deceptions have rendered the worldwide Church powerless.

Scofield’s Dispensationalist Futurism has rendered the Church fearful and powerless. So many look heavenward for Christ to ‘take them out of this world’. So many look for Him to then come back to rule the earth with an iron fist from a stone temple in the earthly city of Jerusalem.

Both Islamism AND Zionism are supremacist ideologies that rob all of their humanity and freedom and demean all who are not of their ilk.

By now, I am guilty as charged of the crime of Islamophobia and of the crime of anti-Semitism for daring to question the narratives.

Yet, let us harken to words of encouragement from David Sorensen: ‘Listen to the voice from on high, and let it arouse us from our deep religious sleep, so we become one who is part of the New Day.

Cast out evil, expose the wicked, release judgement on those that serve darkness, and bring Light and hope to the world.’

“Once the good people arise, there is nothing the evil ones can do.”

13 Therefore, let us go to HIM outside the camp and bear the reproach He endured. 14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

Hebrews 13:13-14

Dear Gideon,

I believe there are three issues ‘at play’ here”
1. First, I believe we are currently in a battle concerning the truth about Christ (THE seed of Abraham and TRUE Israel) and ALSO His work on the cross.
The modern state named Israel has REPLACED CHRIST.

As well, It seems to me that many hold to another gospel – that salvation is found not solely in repentance from sin and trust (faith) in Christ’s work on the cross (His death, resurrection, ascension to and enthronement in heaven). To be saved, one needs Jesus AND … (one must bless the modern state of Israel and support it or God will curse you).
The audacity! I thought Christ became a curse for us on the cross and imputed to us HIS righteousness. It seems that the blood of Christ has lost its power.
2. The second issue is this: BOTH Islamism AND Zionism are supremacist ideologies that rob all of their humanity and freedom and demean all who are not of their ilk.
3. And, importantly, with all the attention on the events on the Eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea, Christ’s brothers and sisters are ignored. Where are the front page headlines, the ‘Opinion Pieces’ in the Weekend Australian Enquirer? On the news? Where are the Christians marching in the streets crying, ‘Never Again”?

I hope this is useful for the sake of Christ and Paul’s Gospel.
Kindest regards,
Jane.

  1. I don’t believe that the scriptures support the doctrine that the called & chosen & faithful disciples of Jesus Christ have been sent to the earth at this time in the world’s history in order to make the world a better place by ending the rule of the devil — the prince/archon/ruler of this world — and ending the rule of principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. This wasn’t accomplished by Simon Peter, James and John, Paul/Saul of Tarsus, James the Just (aka the brother of the Lord) and the rest of the Twelve Apostles. I don’t believe in saving the world. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

    1. It can only be the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our role is to be a witness for Him in the last days.

      1. I agree. The work of the Lord Jesus Christ is to save men from death (even the second death) and from hell and from the devil and from eternal punishment and from endless torment. We are His witnesses and witness to His saving power. I simply don’t know if Christ came to change the world for the better or if Christ came to expose the world — i.e. the political, economic, religious, ecclesiastical system — as wicked, fallen, carnal, sensual and of the devil. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” Sometimes I wonder if “loving the world” is essentially the same attitude as “do everything in your power to make the world a better place for yourself and for your family/your children and your grandchildren and for their children”.

      2. I get what you are saying. I believe it will all be a work of the Lord and that when He brings in a righteous world it will only be through the New Heaven and New Earth. This sin-cursed world will always be just that. There may be times where it is better or worse politically but freedom from physical slavery or political liberty are not God’s primary concern. Saved souls are. And it would seem tough times are those He uses to bring people to Him.

  2. What you write is in harmony with 2 Peter 3:11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

  3. Dr. Hartnett,

As an evangelist and church planter among Muslims for 40 years, it is my observation that having a Dispensational or a Covenantal eschatology makes ZERO difference in the boldness, effectiveness, or fruitfulness of the proclamation. I oversee dozens of church planting teams in some of the hardest fields on earth, where Amillennialists and Dispensationalists labour happily and fruitfully side by side.

    Thank you.

    1. Steve, I appreciate that that may be true in many cases. However I have personally experienced where the pastor of a Zionist church told the congregation that there is nothing to do but wait for the pre-Trib Rapture. He said because we will be “out of here” before the Tribulation so they need not fear anything. And he did not he tell them to witness the gospel to the lost because the time is short. They teach that during the tribulation a new batch of saints will be saved, mostly Jews I believe. So no need to do anything because his congregation would not be in the great tribulation, as they say. Kind of perverse doctrine imo.

  4. John, that kind of theological quackery needs to be confronted, or perhaps even ignored (so as not to give it publicity) as the irrelevant, unbiblical, and small theological cul-de-sac that it is. As II Pet 3:11 exhorts, knowing the destruction to come should spur believers to greater godliness and proactive proclamation. Passivity is always sin, whether generated by misdirected Covenantal theology or Dispensationalism.
