Why is it that we hear these stories of the elites and oligarchs of the world building private underground bunkers as if they are preparing for global nuclear war or some other sort of Earth extinction event?
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg apparently is building a $270 million (or $100 million) compound with an underground bunker in Hawaii, which has caused widespread alarm and conspiracy theories on social media platforms.
Others are doing the same. The elites have been building bunkers all over the place in anticipation of catastrophic Earth changes.
The US government has built these Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMBs) with bunkers and connected tunnels in the US. Various theories have been offered as to why. See here.
Some conspiracy theorists talk of the planet X (Nibiru) colliding with Earth. Others talk of a collision with an asteroid, wiping out nearly all life on the planet.
One reporter wrote in July 2024 Huge Apophis Asteroid on Collision Course With Earth? That asteroid is expected to pass within 32,000 km (20,000 miles) of Earth, or about one-tenth of the distance to the moon, on Friday April 13, 2029. That is the distance to a geostationary satellite. Phew! Close!
Is this what all these elites are so afraid of?
Others claim Elon Musk is preparing to go off world, head to Mars, because he believes such an extinction event is coming, even overdue.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said,
“The future of humanity is going to bifurcate in two directions: Either it’s going to become multiplanetary, or it’s going to remain confined to one planet, and eventually, there’s going to be an extinction event.” Yahoo News
Others talk of a mass extinction event like the one they claim wiped out the dinosaurs.
Please note, I do not buy into any of the 4.5 billion year timescale for Earth’s geological history. Nor do I subscribe to the alleged catastrophes over billions of years. But clearly many people have bought the ‘fake news’!
I have heard said that a lot of the elites take seriously the story in the book “The Adam and Eve Story” by Chan Thomas (Emerson House, Los Angeles, 1963). Thomas makes the claim that global mass extinction events happened in the past. So perhaps the elites are expecting another soon.
The book outlines a number of pole shifts which the author claims occurred in the past when an alleged molten layer (a shell) in the Earth, 60 miles thick at a depth of 60 miles to 120 miles, slid over the mantle pulling the magnetic poles with it and somehow disrupting the spin axis of the planet. This disruption caused the ocean water to slide over the continents because the continents above are disconnected from the inner shell 60 miles below. The author does not make it clear how the spin axis is affected when this shell slides over the mantle. What is the coupling between the layers inside the earth and how does it change the magnetic field?
These past shell shifting pole shifts were meant to have occurred 6,500, 11,500, 18,500, 29,000 and 35,000 years ago. The author cites these periods “as cataclysmic catastrophes, or ‘revolutions’ of the earth’s shell” (p.9) and cites J. Andre DeLuc (1779) and Georges Cuvier (1812).
I have read on the historical development of the Catastrophists from the excellent book of Dr Terry Mortenson (based on his PhD thesis) titled “The Great Turning Point” (Master Books, USA, 2004). Downloadable here.
Mortenson details the shift in thinking among geologists on the geological history of the earth during the 19th century. Prior to this time the geologists’ thinking was essentially monolithic (pun intended). Theirs was the view of the Scriptural Geologists, meaning of a supernatural creation about 6000 years ago, followed by the Noachian flood some 1600 years later. Hence a single major global inundation that laid down most of the fossil-bearing sedimentary layers. The flood waters literally buried most of the fauna and flora in water-born sediments created from the reworked the surface of the planet.
The Noachian Flood was not regional but global. Modern day Scriptural Geologists have suggested a mechanism that involves crustal movement with continental plates and even could include some axial tilt changes during the deluge. Ideas of such a mechanism have only been recently developed. See www.globalflood.org.
In the 19th century the Catastrophists added to the Scriptural Geologist view a series of catastrophes (or revolutions) after which God intervened each time and created new forms of life. They still held to a supernatural beginning but that it was millions of years ago. Prior to 1835 most Catastrophists believed that the Noachian Flood was the last such catastrophe or revolution in a long series.
Georges Cuvier was one such Catastrophist and he had a big influence on Chan Thomas’s thinking as far as he states in his book. But as mentioned the Catastrophists still believed in the Noachian Flood but because of their added catastrophes they pushed back the time of supernatural creation untold millions of years.
Later came the Uniformitarian View with Charles Lyell and James Hutton who denied any biblical history and posited that slow, steady, gradual earth changes occurred over millions of years, as allegedly seen in the sedimentary layers. The Noachian Flood was not of any significance to them. It couldn’t be, because it was the most recent event and if global, it would have wiped out all their evidence of any prior fossilisation.
According to his book Mr Thomas became “recognized as the world’s leading authority in the field of cataclysmic geology and its relationship to uniformitarian geology” (p.55). That just shows you how people can become so deceived.
The geological history of the earth is not something you can definitively know, because you cannot do an experiment on the past. Paleontology including dating layers of sediments and geological formations is not operational science but historical or forensic science. For that reason no one can know with any certainty how old the rocks and sedimentary layers are.
You should look to a history book to understand the past. Like many biblical creationists I take the biblical history at face value. The earth is about 6,000 years old according to the Masoretic Hebrew text. But even if you prefer the Septuagint that only pushes out the age of the earth to 7,500 years.
Thus we can conclude from the Bible that there were no pole shifts 6,500, 11,500, 18,500, 29,000 or 35,000 years ago. There may have been one 4,500 years ago at the great deluge in Noah’s time that the Bible clearly describes. It does not describe a catastrophe in Adam’s time 11,500 years ago as Mr Thomas alleges.
Besides the correct model for the earth’s magnetic field is free decay of the electric current circulating in the liquid iron-nickel outer core. The rotation axis of that electric current is not aligned with the planetary spin axis. Therefore the magnetic poles are offset from the geographical poles by about 10 degrees which varies over time. That misalignment could be evidence of the earth changes in the great deluge 4,500 years ago. Slow misalignment continues to this day.
The poles of the earth’s magnetic field do wander around. It has been theorised that that results from movement of magnetic material in the mantle. However the magnetic field strength is exponentially decaying, which is well described by the free decay of the electric current in the core of the planet.
The core has a finite electrical resistivity (it’s not superconducting), where resistivity is a fundamental specific property of a material that measures its electrical resistance or how strongly it resists an electric current. Therefore the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics dictates that energy must be lost as heat to the core as the magnetic field strength decays. Read Earth’s Magnetic Field: A Shield by Design.
In addition to this, energy is being transferred from the main magnetic dipole component in the magnetic field to higher order multipole components, the quadrupole and octupole components. This could lead to a magnetic pole swap, which is a polarity reversal. It is not a swap in the geographical spin axis. The latter would require a reversal of the rotation of the planet. And that is impossible!
A magnetic pole shift does not necessarily mean a shift in the tilt of the spin axis to the ecliptic, either.
Mass movement of large sections of the ocean floor, subducted into the mantle, as proposed by Dr John Baumgardner’s Earth model during Noah’s flood could include some change in axial tilt. But the main mechanism to drive the oceans across the continental land masses is rapid plate tectonics. See Catastrophic Plate Tectonics.
Can such an event happen again, and soon? No, it can’t. And there are two good reasons.
One is that conditions of the pre-flood Earth are never to be repeated. The Earth was created in a thermodynamically unstable equilibrium state such that once the catastrophe of the flood was triggered, runaway sea floor subduction led to a stable equilibrium condition for the crust at maximum entropy and minimum gravitational potential energy.
The second reason is what God said to mankind after the Noachian flood:
11 And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
Genesis 9:11 AKJV
So there will never be a global, that is, an earth-covering flood again. Well, what about some other catastrophe?
There is the Apostle John’s visions as written in the book of Revelation.
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell on the third part of the rivers, and on the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.Revelation 6:8-11 AKJV
The second angel event sounds like a mega-volcano, perhaps like a bigger version of a Yellowstone supervolcano, which would result in massive earthquakes and tsunamis killing a third of all sea life.
The third angel event sounds something like an asteroid or comet impacting the earth killing perhaps as many as a third of all life on earth. That would generate massive shockwaves, earthquakes and tsunamis that would travel widely across the surface of the planet.
Is this what the elite are preparing for? Could they be reading the book of Revelation? I don’t know. I am only speculating.
But I do know that God will judge this planet eventually, if for no other reason than the wickedness of mankind. God has told us that eventually, in the day of the Lord, He will melt the elements of the earth and make a new earth. He will destroy the rulers and works of mankind.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hastening to the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness.
2 Peter 3:10-13 AKJV
As promised the next cataclysmic catastrophe or revolution cannot be a global earth-covering flood. The expression “the elements shall melt with fervent heat” sounds more like global thermonuclear war. Thermonuclear explosions cause elements to melt together. Hydrogen bombs use the fusion of hydrogen atoms to helium atoms releasing an enormous amount of energy as heat. The resulting radioactivity would poison the oceans and rivers and many would die.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every slave, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Revelation 6:15-17 AKJV
There is only one real refuge from these coming events. That is in Jesus Christ. Eventually He will bring His heavenly city New Jerusalem to dwell on a New Earth with Him. Make sure you are in that city!
