According to the biblical record, particularly the genealogies in Genesis 5 and 11, the Earth is young; it is not yet 10,000 years old. But according to big bang cosmogony, old Earth dating of rocks and fossil bearing sediments the planet is more than 4 billion years old. Because of the “science falsely so called” many in the churches have abandoned the straight forward understanding of history in the book of Genesis.
In fact, now more than 50% of US Evangelicals do not believe the biblical history of creation as described in the book of Genesis and elsewhere in the Old Testament. But aren’t evangelicals supposed to believe the written word of God?
Besides you don’t even need to read the Old Testament to discover the truth of creation. The writers of the New Testament give us plenty of information on that. All we have to do is believe what is written.
13 And because of this we give thanks to God without ceasing, that having received the Word of hearing from us, you welcomed it as of God, not as a word of men, but as it is, truly the Word of God, which also works in you, the ones believing.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJ3
Even though it was written by men it is not the word of men but the Word of God. We should believe it as intended to be understood and not re-interpretate it to mean something else.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. … 14 And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, glory as of an only begotten One from the Father, full of grace and of truth.
John 1:1-3, 14 KJ3
Of course this is referring to Jesus the Son of God, the Word, who was in the beginning with God. See also Colossians 1:14-17. The text here doesn’t tell us when the beginning was but it identifies Jesus as the creator of all things in the universe.
When Jesus was talking to the Pharisees about divorce He said:
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and join to his wife; 8 And they two shall be one flesh: so then they are no more two, but one flesh.

It was at the creation that God initially made just two humans, the first man Adam and his wife Eve, the first female. This was not after some millions of years of evolution, but by fiat creation of God. And there are no other genders mentioned, only male and female, and that is a biological fact. This is repeated in Matthew.
4 And he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Matthew 19:4 AKJV
Jesus and the writers of the gospel accounts took the creation as a given. It was not from some long time in the past either. In fact they often connected events to show us that it was in the recent past. But it seemed that they had criticism from scoffers who would challenge them about the promise that Christ the Messiah coming and why was He taking so long.
3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6 and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. 7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
2 Peter 3:3-7 ESV
Here the Apostle Peter wrote is plain language that God created the Earth out of water and through water just by His spoken Word. And by that water He destroyed the world that existed at the time of Noah through a global flood. Jesus prophesied on the coming judgment of the unbelieving Jews which He was about to send them. His prophecy was fulfilled circa 70 AD with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Jewish temple.
He said at the time:
19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created to this time, neither shall be.
Mark 13:19 AKJV
He, as a matter of fact, said that the affliction coming to them would be more than they ever experienced since the beginning of creation. It does not connote a long period of billions of years since creation.
The judgment He sent was because of their ungodliness and unrighteousness, which has not changed much today.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
Romans 1:18-19 ESV
God had shown them the truth but because of their choice of unrighteousness they suppressed the truth and turned it into a lie.
20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Romans 1:20 ESV
They are without excuse because the truth was plain to see in all creation. But then, like now, they chose to believe Satanic lies and as a result they rejected the divinity of Christ, their Creator and Messiah.
21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

This is manifest in the current time as “science falsely so called” or big bang origin of the universe, abiotic origin of life, Darwinian evolution and many other unbiblical fairytales. The application of those who rejected God’s creation and therefore His truth goes well beyond those of the Jewish religion of Paul’s time.
Today it includes all the misotheists and theists who claim to know better than the Word of God. Instead of worshipping the Creator via Jesus Christ they worship false and demonic gods. Some of them worship the universe itself.
24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Romans 1:24-25 ESV
This has led to rampant sodomy, for which God destroyed two cities, Sodom and Gomorrah in the past. And He will do it again.
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

The false teachings of 12 genders from the Babylonian Talmud or 24 from witchcraft has become endemic. The Woke claim that there are many different gender identities, including male, female, transgender, gender neutral, non-binary, agender, gender fluid, pangender, genderqueer, two-spirit, third gender, and any combination of these.
The Lord clearly stated that He only made 2 genders or sexes, male and female. And that relations are only permitted between one male and one female in marriage. The woke Satanic gender bending is contrary to that natural order. The purpose of that is to break the established natural laws of God and push society into permitting sexual relations between anyone or anything. By dissolving the laws of God Satan is trying to break down the barrier to children. Read Gender Bending is Witchcraft.
This has also led to rampant pedophilia, child trafficking for child slave labor and child sex and far worse in our so-called civilised nations. It is now endemic across the highest levels of society, even governments facilitating and running cover for it. The Jeffrey Epstein files, if fully released unredacted, will show the depth of the depravity at the highest levels of society.
28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

This state of affairs relates back to that original creation state: one man and one woman, created not evolved, and told to procreate. That is the creation message of the Bible and it is all found in the New Testament. But also it relates to the coming judgment against the unrighteous because they choose to not follow God’s created order.
However, God is patient and waits for the right time to bring retribution on the wicked Christ rejecting world.
8 But let not this one thing escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day with the Lord is “as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
2 Peter 3:8 KJ3
Judgment may not happen immediately but it will come at the time appointed. God was telling the believers back in Peter’s time (and us now by extension) not to be too anxious because the Christ will return at the appointed time. See Time in the Mind of God.
9 The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing any to perish, but all to turn one’s self to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and being burning up the elements will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, all these things being about to be dissolved, of what sort ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the Day of God, through which the heavens being set on fire will be dissolved; and the elements being burned up? 13 But according to His promise, we look for “new heavens and a new earth,” in which righteousness dwells.

Christ will come when the world least expects. There will be no signs for them. The evil ones will be sent to Hell and their works on Earth destroyed. But the Lord calls all to repentance. He does not want any to perish.
The new heaven and new earth are a reference to the renovated earth and its environment but more importantly to the renovated souls who will inhabit the new heavenly kingdom. To God the spiritual takes precedent over the physical. Nevertheless a person is both a body and soul and we are promised resurrection with a new renovated body like Jesus had after His resurrection.
