Prologue

As a teenager I was extremely absorbed by mathematics and physics. In high school my particular interest was to try to understand the origin of the universe. To that end I believed if I studied the physical laws by which the universe operated I could arrive at a conclusion. Was the universe solely the product of matter, energy and the laws of physics? Did it begin in a big bang or was it eternal in the sense that it had no beginning and no ending.

I never once considered a Creator because I believed that there was no God and that every organism in the universe had evolved to its current state by Darwinian evolution. The only question I had at the time was to resolve the issue of whether the universe had an origin in time or not.

I never considered design even though I learnt a lot about apparent design in the laws of physics. As an undergraduate physics student in the university system one was shoe-horned into only naturalistic explanations for every phenomena we observe. So how was I ever going to come to understand that the universe was especially designed for life?

The very nature of the physical laws describe that design. And as I have since learned, the laws of physics that I was studying as an undergraduate, are the creation of an Intelligent Mind. They are not the product of random chance, where universes in a multiverse are birthed with different laws.

After coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ at 20 years old, as a third year student, my eyes were slowly opened to this worldview. After 2 more years, and after reading the Genesis account of creation, I realised all the time-tested laws of physics were a perfect description of the created universe. The Lord God opened my eyes to the beauty of His created order and the history described in the first chapters of the book of Genesis.

It then has taken me another 50 years of studying, researching and teaching physics, mathematics and the Bible to really develop an appreciation for what God did at the creation of the universe.

My goal in this book is to explain the perfect and ultimate design that the Creator used in His creation, and the ramifications of that creation in our lives today.

The Chapters 1 through 7 gives a physics professor’s view of the Days of creation when God created all matter and energy and formed the Earth and all stellar bodies, including the Sun, the Moon and all the planets in the solar system.

Even though God created ex nihilo (from nothing) He also created an orderly system of laws that govern the universe, which are important to understand His creation (Chapter 8).

The thermodynamic state of the initial creation was low entropy, which has been inexorably increasing ever since the Curse on creation. The forces of decay were continually being reversed by the Creator’s sustaining power (Chapter 9) in the period before the Curse, and thus maintaining a paradise on Earth.

The effects of that Curse (Chapter 10) may be seen everywhere in both the cosmos and on Earth. These effects are examined and it is found to be that God has had a plan here from the very beginning.

The historical sequence of events from creation, when properly understood, encourages us that the Creator has held us in His hand even though He judged the wicked in the Great Flood (Chapter 11). Even that was His plan, providentially providing a fuel source in all the coal deposits on Earth (Chapter 12).

The Creator’s laws of physics govern our ability to extract useful energy from the planet now (Chapters 12 – 14). These forms of energy, especially hydrocarbons in the form of oil, gas and coal, have great significance for the quality of life and prosperity in the modern world.

The Earth and its space environment were designed for the express purpose of a habitat for the only life in the universe (Chapter 15), that is, Carbon-based life, there is no other (Chapter 16).

The Earth suffered a global climate catastrophe, when the whole planet was covered in a global Flood of judgment on the wicked, but God promised to never use water again. The Climate Cult preaches a coming global catastrophe from rising sea levels with the potential to flood the continents. However they are very mistaken as the next judgment will be with fire (Chapter 17).

The Earth itself is evidence of design. That design includes its spherical shape which comes from the created laws of physics in a 3-dimensional Euclidean universe. The Earth and the rest of creation are all designed by the Creator to offer the best habitat for life in the universe. A spheroidal Earth is a consequence of the Creator’s fundamental physics (Chapter 18).

Our planet Earth is the only viable starship in the universe. It has all the necessary life support systems for all living humans and all other life as it hurtles through the vacuum of space. The Creator design this spaceship for this express purpose (Chapter 19).

The global Flood was a mass extinction event and judgment on the wicked. God promised not to flood the Earth with water again. Instead the next and last mass extinction event will be a flood of fire in the final judgment. Perhaps the Creator will use space rocks from creation to bring about the final purging of all the wicked and their inventions from the Earth (Chapter 20).

The end may be near for the restoration of all things including the Earth and its inhabitants. The Earth has been damaged by man’s sin and the effects of the Curse. However the Creator has promised to renovate the Earth when He brings on the New Heaven and New Earth to come. The forces of decay will again be reversed (Chapter 21).
