The New Holy Roman Empire

popecover0928On September 28, Time magazine featured Pope Francis’ visit to the United States with the headline “Pope Francis and the New Roman Empire.” The first paragraph of the article read,1

From Cuba to climate change, he has revitalized the Vatican’s role in global diplomacy. Now he’s bringing his activist agenda to the U.S.

In 1796 the Holy Roman Empire was defeated and subjugated under the conquest of Napoleon Bonaparte. General Berthier marched into Rome unopposed on February 10, 1798, and proclaimed a Roman Republic. He demanded the pope renounce all his temporal power.  Papal lands were confiscated and the power of the popes greatly diminished. But the Papacy was only temporarily “wounded” and since that time has continued to recover from that major defeat.  At the Congress of Vienna (1814–1815) the Papal States were largely restored. The Jesuits were restored and the Inquisition was revived.

Once the early U.S. statesmen and founding fathers understood the evil of the Roman Church and its unrelenting claim on the world. But now we see the once-staunchly-protestant America open its doors wide to the Papacy, welcoming back in the Mother of Harlots. Big mistake! Whatever the popes lay claim to they will not let go of except by force.

The cover image of that issue of Time magazine may well be a prophecy as the Bible speaks of the man of sin, the AntiChrist, who will regain power (“recover from a deadly wound”) and will rule the whole world. The seat of his power is Hell itself, but he, the AntiChrist, will claim to be Christ on earth, which the Papacy already claims.

So what new? Allied with the ruling class of America, who are avid communists, under the banner of global warming and programs for the poor, the Papacy promotes a false social gospel on Earth. He does not know the Lord of Heaven, and hence only follows the will of his father, Lucifer. The natural union is Romanism with communism (Cuba is a good place to start). And Obama’s form of socialism is a perfect fit. Get the self-loathing progressives on side and you have a formula for one world religion and a one world government. Perfect!

This is how the popes gained power originally in starting in the 4th and 5th centuries A.D.. They formed alliances, used subterfuge, employed trickery and forged documents, made agreements and conquered with military force. Here the Papacy is doing what it does best. And it is far removed from any resemblance of the way the true Master of Heaven taught. In the image above Francis is holding an idol which contains a wafer biscuit that Roman Catholics worship as a god. What effrontery to the living God! God said that Heaven is His throne, and Earth is His footstool, so what house or enclosure can puny man build Him?

The new Holy Roman Empire, really, is just a restoration of the original one, the one that the Bible describes has persecuted true Christians for the last 1500 years.
