Warning! prophecy

Turn your eyes towards Memphis (Egypt), for out of it shall come the Great Confusion! The author of confusion is even now marshalling his forces for this Great Confusion! He is gathering his forces from a great nation and eastern nations, friends that will join with him. So sudden will be the Great Confusion, that it will cause a mighty widening of the eyes of those who have not discerned the signs of the times. But be ye not deceived! Be prepared! And be not deceived by the great society, for it will come to travail and then bring forth the Great Confusion! Be prepared!  Even now the skies are red, red with warning, and black, black with clouds gathering for the great confusion, which is almost upon you!

In 1965 Virginia Berg received this prophecy, which she called the Warning prophecy. The first paragraph was given to her in the middle of the night. She said that God woke her out of a deep sleep and told her to start writing. She obeyed; the prophecy was the result. Please note the bracketed word Egypt was not part of the prophecy; it is an interpretation that God meant Memphis Egypt.

In 1974 as a young Christian on hearing this prophecy I was spurred on to reach people with the gospel of salvation by Jesus Christ. Now 42 years later I have looked at this again. Whether or not this is a true prophecy from God, the message in it I believe is amazingly resonant with our times now.

Back in the 1970’s I was taught and I accepted the notions that are described as part of the futurist interpretation of Bible prophecy. I believed at that time in a rise of a future AntiChrist and that he would sign a 7-year peace pact centred on the Middle East, especially Israel. Eventually he would rule the world. After a period of Great Tribulation, I believed, he would be defeated by Jesus Christ Who returns at His Second Coming.

This tract shown here I used to hand out on the streets in Australia, warning people of the impending peril that was coming. In the 1970’s and 80’s the world went through a great fear of nuclear war, which passed when the Soviet Bloc broke up and the Cold War ceased. Since then also I have come to no longer believe in the Jesuit inspired false interpretation of Bible prophecy (futurism). I never believed in the John Darby Nelson concept of dispensationalism and pre-Tribulation Rapture though that is a branch of futurism.  Now I believe that we are coming towards the end of the “Church Age”, which is symbolised by the 1000-year period in Revelation chapter 20, called the Millennium, except it is much longer than 1000 years. I also believe that we are in the period towards the end of that called by some the “little season”, where Satan is loosed or unbound from the pit he was bound in during the Church Age (see Revelation 20 study for details).

I believe now though that there is an interpretation of this Warning prophecy, which uncannily makes a lot of sense:

What started in Egypt a few years ago? The so-called Arab spring, which turned out to be an Arab winter, a nightmare. The rise of the fanatical Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt saw the start of this type of fundamental Islamic terrorism swept the world. It was there before but it seemed to very rapidly accelerate around that time. Wahhabi sect is the new truth of Islam, which is preaching Islamic hegemony around the world. The so-called Islamic State (or ISIS, ISIL) is the result of failed American interventionism, and a failure to understand fundamentalist Islam.

The “author of confusion” has always been Satan. He has been marshalling his forces for a new assault of the now post-Christian Western nations. Because Satan has been released from any bondage by God he has promoted godless ideologies (humanism, communism and evolutionism, all under the philosophy of atheism).  He has caused the once Christian nations to imbibe the godless religion (atheism) and because of this they have opened themselves to accepting anything. This has allowed Islam to gain a foothold. (Socialists, meaning communists, work with Islamists.) Now we see mass migration around the world by Muslim migrants from many nations in civil war and other terrorist created turmoil. The “Great Confusion” is developing.

Islamic scholars preach that when a nation becomes wholly Islamic it will be at peace. But look at almost any Islamic country and you will see that that is a lie. You see sectarian violence ripping different countries apart in the name of Islam. One sect says the Muslims they kill are not Muslim enough. Almost daily now we read of Muslim jihadis inflicting terrorism on anyone they can and in many western nation too. This is the Great Confusion because the western political leaders cannot seem to understand the cause of it. They are confused. But we know the truth and there is no confusion there.

God Himself is sending these forces as His own rod against those who have rejected the truth of His Son and deny Him in His Word and in actions. Once Christian nations are now embracing atheistic humanism, even legislating for it.

The “eastern nations” are those Muslim lands, many now in turmoil and war, causing the displacement of millions, who are invading the West. And who is “a great nation” who leads this? Some say it was meant to represent the USA, but I am not so sure. Could it be Iran, the former nation of Persia? Before Hitler’s Nazi Germany, the kingdom of Persia, led by its Prime Minister Haman the Agagite, was a nation that tried to destroy all Jews and thus also destroy the seed that would lead to the birth of Christ. Now called Iran, modern Persia has fostered Islamic terrorism now for many decades. Recently the USA sold out to Iran by freeing over $10 billion dollars from frozen bank accounts. This has given them an enormous boost in resources to bring on more great confusion, which is Satan’s way. Persia and the lands towards the west are named in the Scriptures in Ezekiel 38,39 and as such I believe these Islamic nations are represented by Gog and Magog in Revelation chapter 20. That prophecy indicates again that Persia (led by the chief prince Gog) will attack Israel, and Muslim hordes will continue to strike at the heart of the once Christian West. Blinded by sin and rejection of Christ, these atheistic nations will be shocked as the Great Confusion comes upon them.

So sudden will be the Great Confusion, that it will cause a mighty widening of the eyes of those who have not discerned the signs of the times. But be ye not deceived! Be prepared!

I am convinced only 30 years ago (in 1986, the year of Halley’s comet) no one would have thought the world would be being invaded by tens of millions of Muslims where there is among them, even if only a small percentage, those Islamic terrorists, like ISIS, who wish to destroy democracy and all western nations and replace them with a united ISIS controlled world under a Caliphate. Less than 100 years ago all Western nations were dominantly Christian, at least in culture, if not in moral practice. Now this is no longer the case. In terms of political change in the world this has been so sudden. So get prepared! It is almost upon us!

And be not deceived by the great society, for it will come to travail and then bring forth the Great Confusion!

“The great society” fits the godless, Christ rejecting once Christian world that is led by the elites who control the banking system and ultimately the destiny of nations. Many would say that it is the USA but I think it is a society of powerful Satan inspired people–many may know of the Jesuits–and those they control. The papacy intends and is working towards world domination, to bring all Christians back under papal control, and to create an ecumenical one world religion, controlled by their false god. The unsaved will not be able to distinguish the truth from the lie.

This prophecy was received just over 50 years ago. God sometimes moves slowly but I would say that the changes we have seen in the moral decay of western nations, in recent times, has been catastrophically fast. As such, nations have embraced godless philosophies, and the Lord has then sent (not just allowed) His rod of correction into the world to chastise the nations. We reap what we sow!

I believe we are seeing a fulfilment of this Warning prophecy (intended or not) and also of the prophecy of “Gog and Magog”. The latter is a coming fulfillment of the prophecy in Revelation 20 which is a separate event to the prophecy of Ezekiel 38,39, which I believe happened already, a long time ago.
