Some of the oldest text in the Bible, in the book of Job, uses an untranslated Hebrew word to describe a powerful beast. The description seems to fit that of some type of reptile or dinosaur that lives in water.
1 Can you draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which you let down?
Job 41:1
The Hebrew word used here is לִויָתָן livyathan, which has been transliterated to the English word Leviathan. My Mickelson-Strong’s concordance gives these meanings:
- a wreathed animal, i.e. a serpent (especially the crocodile or some other large sea-monster).
- (figuratively) the constellation of the dragon.
- (also) as a symbol of Babylon.
It is not a crocodile. It is more likely some form of a marine dinosaur, which we could call a reptile. But the description sounds like the story book fire-breathing dragon.
18 His sneezings flash forth light, and his eyes are as the eyelids of the dawn. 19 Out of his mouth go burning torches; sparks of fire fly out. 20 Smoke goes out of his nostrils like a pot breathed out and reeds. 21 His breath kindles coals and the flame goes out from his mouth.
Job 41:18-21 KJ3
Fire breathing dragon? Metaphorically a perfect description of Satan. Satanic lies are fire that causes much damage and lead people to hell fire and eternal damnation.
26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom you have made to play therein.
Psalm 104:26
The creature was a water dweller. Some have conjectured a plesiosaur. I think it might have been closer to the classic fire-breathing dragon. There is the famous legend of Saint George slaying the fire-breathing dragon. Legends often have basis is fact and this one has the message that as soldiers for Christ we are at war against the evil power of Satan, the dragon.
After Noah’s flood God even provided Leviathan meat for the survivors on the Ark.
14 You brake the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gave him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
Psalm 74:14
This indicates it was a real animal. The Lord used the physical animal as a symbolic type of the agent He uses in His judgements on man.
21 For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
Isaiah 26:17-21
Leviathan is quite obviously a reference to Satan who is also described as the piercing serpent, the crooked serpent and the dragon that lives in the sea.
1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
Isaiah 27:1
God is the Creator of all things. He made the crooked serpent, Satan, and uses him as his agent to execute judgment on the wicked.
13 By His Spirit He has garnished the heavens; His hand has formed the crooked serpent.
Job 26:13
We even read this reference to the constellation of stars called the crooked serpent. Possibly it is the constellation of Draco or Hydra. But it is God who made the fallen angel, Lucifer, whom He uses for His purposes.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Isaiah 45:7
This verse must be read in context. God does not create evil per se. He created the agents who choose the evil side. And God uses them for His own purposes.
God however provides every opportunity for anyone to make the right choices. His Holy Spirit will guide all those who love and seek Him.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you: 8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Matthew 7:7-11
I think there is more to this message from Jesus than initially we might perceive. It is for certain that Jesus will give salvation to all those who call out to Him. Note the comparison between receiving either a fish or a serpent. A fish is a good and a serpent is bad. The early Disciples of Christ knew this as many of them were fishermen.
The believers in the first century AD used the Ichthys symbol. The ichthys or ichthus (/ˈɪkθəs/), from the Greek ikhthū́s (ἰχθύς, 1st century AD) means ‘fish’.
The letters of the Greek word formed the initial letters of the phrase ‘Jesus Christ, of God the Son, our Saviour’. The heavenly Ichthus, then, was Jesus Christ, and we are the smaller fish, born in the waters of baptism, as Tertullian says, caught in the net of salvation, and thus made members of the heavenly kingdom.
There were many evil serpents around in the 1st century also. Jesus spoke against them in the Satanic Jews.
31 Why you be witnesses to yourselves, that you are the children of them which killed the prophets. 32 Fill you up then the measure of your fathers. 33 You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell?
Matthew 23:31-33
They were followers of Lucifer as were their fathers. Christ labelled them as a ‘generation of vipers’, a generation of snakes. Their oral traditions led so many from the truth to the dark side. The Satanic Jews were those who killed the prophets and eventually they killed their own Messiah, God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
We need not fear as we have Christ with us. He has given us power over these evil agents.
18 And He said to them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Luke 10:18-20
Satan fell from heaven and he was restricted in his activities. This occurred when Satan was bound in the bottomless pit.
1 And I saw an angel [Jesus Christ] come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Revelation 20:1-3
He was bound there for the period of the Church Age, symbolically represented by the one thousand years in Revelation 20. During that period he still operated on earth through his many demons and fallen angels, but he could not deceive the nations. At the end of that period he is released from the abyss (Revelation 20:7) for a ‘little season’, and as such can now deceive the nations. That has been happening big time for the last 4 years or more. I believe we are now in that ‘little season’.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Revelation 20:7-8
Gog represents the wicked forces battling in the spirit world against Christ and his followers who live on all parts of the globe. The battle is a spiritual war against satanic forces. A war in heaven, not a war in the physical realm.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:7-9
This passage illustrates the spiritual battle we now face. This is a battle fought in prayer, the word of God and faith in Jesus Christ. It is a battle already won by Christ on the Cross.
12 Truly, truly, I say to you, He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to My Father.
John 14:12
Fear not! If you have the faith you shall do greater works against the evil forces than Jesus did on earth. This is because it is the Holy Spirit in you who does the works.
Still the Apostle Paul gives us a warning not to listen to the lies of Satan, especially now that for us that he is released from the abyss.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:3
The purpose of the beguiling serpent is to keep us on the straight and narrow track in our service to God. We are not deceived and we should not fall for Satan’s tricks, which have not changed since the Garden of Eden when he beguiled Eve into eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, Yes, has God said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die. 4 And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die: 5 For God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Genesis 3:1-4
13 And the LORD God said to the woman, What is this that you have done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the LORD God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, you are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; on your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life:
Genesis 3:13-14
The beguiling serpent, Satan, lied to Eve. She was captured under his spell and believed him. So she disobeyed the Lord and also gave the forbidden fruit to Adam. Their eyes were opened to both good and evil.
From their action God brought judgment on the whole world, the whole Creation in fact. From that moment on they began to die and in time they died physically. Death had become common place. The Creation was cursed and hardship and struggle became the norm.
Satan thought he had beaten God, and sentenced humanity to hell. But God had a plan in place, which ultimately led to salvation for all those who believe in His Son Jesus the Christ.
Fast forward to the present! The demon possessed oligarchs are now implementing their satanic programs to depopulate the world and send as many people to hell as possible. Satan knows this is the goal, even if those ‘elites’ don’t know it. Yet they are possessed of demons and speak with satanic subtlety.
19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like to serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
Revelation 9:19
The clue is in the word ‘serpent’. Like snakes they are full of poison. The words ‘great dragon’ and ‘serpents’ are used as synonyms for Satan and his demonic angels.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:9
He now has this power to deceive the whole world. Prior to being released from the abyss he did not have this power. His angels are the fallen angels, his henchmen, who have taken over all these global leaders, especially those from the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the UN/WHO.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven [fallen angels], and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child [Jesus Christ], who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.
Revelation 12:3-5
When Christ was born Satan possessed King Herod to have Him killed. At that time, in the nation of Israel, King Herod had all baby boys, under 2 years old, murdered. That is satanic evil. In the same manner we will soon be facing the same sort of challenges as the ekklesia — represented by the woman in the wilderness at this time — is spiritually sustained by the power of the Holy Spirit for 3½ years under persecution by the evil demons of the crooked serpent, Satan.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman [the ekklesia, the Godly Jews before Christ was born] which brought forth the man child [Jesus Christ]. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12:13-17
Just as Jesus’ parents fled with Him into Egypt for 3½ years to escape persecution, we, as the ekklesia also flee into the ‘wilderness’ spiritually, to escape persecution for 3½ years. In baby Jesus’ case it involved physically removing themselves from the scene by going down to Egypt for 3½ years. In our case there is nowhere to go now that the whole world is under Satan’s control.
I see this spiritual war being cranked up now. Christians, and Christian culture is massively under attack. The demon transgender worshippers of Satan and the antichrist LGBTQI+pedophile activists are out to crucify all the children, neuter them, that they can before God closes the door on them. They know they have very little time. The demons in them know this at least.
In the Apostle John’s vision in Revelation chapter 13 there is terrible beast who rises up out of the sea. The sea is the people of the nations of the world. This beast is powered by Lucifer the dragon. He is seven headed, where each head represents rulers of all major kingdoms on earth.
1 And I stood on the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power to the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like to the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
Revelation 13:1-6
This passage describes the persecution of the ekklesia, the true assembly of Christ on earth. The evil rulers worship the beast, an antichrist ruler of the final kingdom on earth. This ruler is possessed of Lucifer himself, not a minor demon. They persecute the ekklesia for 3½ years. This is the same period mentioned above.
It sure seems that we are fast approaching this period in our history as the oligarchs impose more and more totalitarian controls over our lives. They are using so-called ‘health’ measures to inject deadly toxins into most of the world population. They engineer wars and diseases. They starve people by shutting down agriculture all in the name of saving Mother Earth (read Satan) from climate change.
They are now beginning to demonise those who stand for the truth of God’s Word. This is the true test of your faith.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.
James 4:7-10
