A common biblical creationist worldview in regards to the creation of the Earth is that it started out in a perfect ideal state. It is true that we can argue from the biblical texts that at the end of the 6th day of creation that the creative process was complete, and in that sense God called it ‘very good’ (Genesis 1:31). The corollary to that is usually that God will ultimately return the Earth to its original created state.
In a sense the creation was perfect in that it had not yet been subject to the changes brought on through the Curse. It was in the best state that it could have been. And that included the humans, Adam and Eve.
At the Curse it was changed forever! And perhaps those changes were the result of the processes by which God would bring about His goal for mankind to freely choose and love Him? Had God predestined the Curse and its subsequent effects to bring about His own purposes?
So here’s a thought. With perfect knowledge including seeing/causing all future events God intended what we see today for His creation. Angels and humans were able to choose good or evil. But God would not force them to choose Him.
There are a few cause and effect realities we could quickly list:
- Adam’s sin as the cause of death (Romans 5:12) and the salvific power of Christ’s sacrifice as the redemption from that death.
- As a result of Adam’s sin, which we have all inherited, the Creator cursed the universe. And we all experience the effects of that Curse.
- The natural world also is subject to the effects of the Curse.
The scriptures tells us that “curse causeless shall not come” (Proverbs 26:2).
The underlying principle here is one of divine justice, affirming that God’s protection extends to the innocent, and that curses are not arbitrary but are tied to cause and consequence.
All of that to say that God set in place a set of events that would come to pass that would achieve His goals in all things that He created. He would protect the innocent and no one would suffer without cause. (You need a celestial view to see this.)
God has so far achieved His outcomes. That means He will continue to do so up to the day of final judgment.

Think about Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza and the deaths, starvation and sufferings of tens of thousands of innocent children and other non-combatants. Check out BBC for evidence.
Why does God allow the suffering of the innocents?
The world was created with perfect laws, but it does not mean that God had not planned a future that would be “messy”. It has to be messy because idealized automatons do not grow and flourish in a perfect environment. Only through the pain and suffering do people come to know their Creator. Others reject Him. This is not black and white! But all are responsible for their opinions, their deeds and the consequences of those they will ultimately have to pay for.
Two well known Zionist pastors in the evangelical church died this year and will have to face their Maker for leading so many astray with their support for the mass murder of so many Palestinians. See Two Christian Zionist Evangelical Leaders Have Recently Gone to Stand in Judgment Before their Maker
This all started in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve’s rebellion was guaranteed, in fact, it was part of God’s plan. The subsequent war in heaven and fight between the powers of darkness and light was also guaranteed. See We Fight Against the Rulers of Darkness
It is the messiness that this spiritual war produces on Earth that leads to the salvation of souls. If everyone lived in an ideal society where there were no conflicts, wars, diseases, famines, poverty, or natural disasters, then the world would forget God and just selfishly live for themselves.
On every level and in every sphere the Earth was born in turmoil. It is only through these processes can we come to know the Lord and the salvation He freely offers.
Some citing Isaiah 24:19-20 imagine a future for the planet like shown in this picture below .

19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. 20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy on it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
Isaiah 24:19-20 AKJV
But here the use of the word “earth” is a reference the inhabitants of the earth. The focus of the verse is on the transgression of the people. The word “earth” is a metaphor for the people of the Earth. The context is clear. Read the verse that follows!
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
Isaiah 24:21 AKJV
Here the Hebrew word צָּבָא (tsaba’) is translated ‘the host’ but its literal meaning is ‘a mass of persons’. There are many other such references where God judges the earthlings but refers to them as ‘the earth’.
But even if, in carrying out the judgment, as He promised in the coming Day of the Lord, God shakes up the planet literally with earthquakes and such, these verses still do not imply the total elimination/destruction of the planet.
God’s plans will not be frustrated because they are based on His eternal purpose and foreknowledge, which are unchangeable and all-encompassing.
The Bible affirms that nothing can thwart God’s purposes.
2 I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
Job 42:2 ESV
This principle is reinforced by Isaiah 14:
24 The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: … 26 This is the purpose that is purposed on the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out on all the nations. 27 For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who shall cancel it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Isaiah 14:24-27 AKJV
From God’s perspective His creation in its fallen state is achieving His goals. That is to bring the ‘high ones’ (they call themselves ‘elites’) into final judgment and to bring into heaven all those who put their trust in Him, that is, the ‘low ones’, the meek, that Jesus said would inherit the Earth.
