Revelation 12: Believers in the Wilderness

The revelation really begins in the last verse of Revelation chapter 11.

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His temple the ark of His testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Revelation 11:19

Before we continue we need to understand that God’s way (and the Hebrew way of thinking) is very different to what we are used to, which has been heavily influenced by Greek thought. God describes events as though they have already happened because He sees all of time; He is outside of time.

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Isaiah 46:9,10

What we read in the book of Revelation is written in such a way that time is not a sequence of events but past and present actions are seen as already happened. The vision was given to the Apostle John on the island of Patmos around 90 AD well after the incident where Herod tried to kill baby Jesus by murdering all children under 2 years old yet the events of around that time are seen as happening in the present.

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

Revelation 12:1,2

There is a reference to the past event of where the woman (the church in the nation of Israel) gives birth to Jesus Christ. She is clothed with the Son of God, the power of the Holy Spirit. The stars on her head represent angels (Revelation 1:20) making up her crown, which is translated from the Greek word “stephanos”, meaning laurels like a victor gets when winning the battle. The number 12 is for perfection. The Lord uses the number 12 many places. Revelation 21:12,14 are examples.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

Revelation 12:3

This great red dragon is similar in some respects to the beast seen in Revelation 13:1. In this vision the crowns are on the heads of the dragon but in chapter 13 the crowns are on the 10 horns. In chapter 13 it is described as the beast but in this chapter it is described as the great red dragon.

In this vision the 10 horns are likely on the individual heads (some have one or two horns). Each head shows us that the final kingdom has spiritually subsumed all the other past major kingdoms. These are Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome.

In Revelation 13:1 the 10 horns are on the final head of the dragon representing Rome and its current extension the global beast system. The 10 horns perhaps represent the group of many nations (under the UN?) that are under the control of the current beast system.

In this verse 3 the word “crown” is translated from the Greek word “diadema”, indicating a ruler, like a monarch. The dragon is Satan who possessed the rulers of the 7 major world kingdoms that preceded this final one.

How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isaiah 14:12

When Satan fell (Luke 10:18) he took a third of the angels with him. See verses 4 and 9 below.

And He [Jesus] said to them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Luke 10:18

The word ‘Lucifer’ means the light-bearer. When Jesus cast him down his fall appeared as lightning.

Jay Green’s translation (KJ3) reads:

And He said to them, I saw Satan falling out of Heaven as lightning!

Luke 10:18 KJ3

The next verse in Luke 10.

Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:19

Some suggest that this is when the church age began. Satan is made subservient to those with the Holy Spirit, which means to the saved disciples of Christ. See Revelation 20:2.

And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Revelation 12:4

Here we have a reference to Satan being cast out of heaven to Earth bringing a third of the angels with him. These are fallen angels. Compare with verse 10.

Lucifer is cast out because he lifted himself up to be God. At the beginning of the church age Lucifer tried to destroy the newly born Saviour. He continues in this fallen state in prison until he is released from the pit. Revelation 20:2,3,7. This occurs at the end of the church age. It seems that this has now happened and we are experiencing Satan’s armies on earth like never before.

And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

Revelation 12:5

The woman (representing Israel) gave birth to Christ who rules the world with a rod of iron, during the church age. See the following verses for the range of meaning of rod of iron. Revelation 2:18-28; Psalm 2:6-9; Revelation 19:15.

The woman at this present time represents the true believers who are also in the “wilderness” where there is a place to be fed.

And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Revelation 12:6

I speculate that under threat of death from King Herod Jesus’ family fled to Egypt for 3.5 years. The time period is not stated in the Bibical record. In the same way today the true church will need to go into the “wilderness” for 3.5 years from the persecution of the antiChrist power, the beast system currently revealing itself in the world. The “wilderness” does not need to be literal. You could be hiding in plain sight but prepared for what is coming.

The time period here is the same as before 1260 days approximately 3.5 years. Compare Revelation 11:3. The war described in the following verse 7 last for this length of time as described in chapter 11.

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Reveltion 12:7

Here Michael most probably is Jesus Christ (or representative of). Compare Revelation 20:1-3. Only Christ, the Son of God has power to bind Satan in the prison. But at the end of the church age Satan is released from the bottomless pit (Revelation 11:7; 20:7). I suggest we are at this point of time now. Satan is now in all out war against God and His followers.

And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Revelation 12:8

Satan cannot win this war. Christ has already beaten him on the cross. But Satan is given permission by God to do his best to deceive the world. During the church age while Satan was bound in the pit he could not deceive the nations of world, but he can now that he is released.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12:9

This records that during this current time the world (the nations of the world) are experiencing gross deception by Satan. Demonism / Satanism is now out in the open. Billions of people in the world have been deceived into taking toxic so-called “vaxxines” to save them from a “flu” virus. They live is constant fear, which Satan is the author of.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Revelation 12:10

This is true of all the church age but also right now.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives to the death.

Revelation 12:11

The Lord’s disciples are those who resist the devil with the spiritual power of God. This is what the persecuted believers have done throughout the last 2000 years.

Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he hash but a short time.

Revelation 12:12

This is really significant. Satan is now released from the pit and he is now in an all-out effort to kill and conquer as quickly as possible as many as possible through the COVID “vaxxines”, plus engineered wars, engineered famines and engineered plagues. See Revelation 6 and The White Horseman Brings Toxic Death Shots.

And when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Revelation 12:13

This signals intense persecution of the true church. The fake church have been lining up for the death shots. The pastors of many many churches have been preaching in favour of the toxic shots. Franklin Graham has said that Jesus would use them. What a lie! (Satan is the father of lies.)

And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Revelation 12:14

The expression “time and times and half a time” means approx. 3.5 years. The true church is fed by God for 3.5 years when she is under persecution. Like the young Jesus nourished in Egypt the true followers, who do not take the mark of the beast, are fed by the Lord in the “wilderness”. As stated above the “wilderness” is not in the deepest jungle because how could the believers witness the Lord’s truth to the lost if they are in hiding? Taking precautions, absolutely, but maybe it is more like guerrila warfare?

And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

Revelation 12:15,16

The woman, the true followers of Jesus, are awake to the deception of Satan and they do not believe the lies which Satan tells the world. The lies are represented in these verses by the flood “cast out of his mouth”, like on TV and in other media. Most of the world swallows the lies of the mainstream media, and dutifully march to their deaths and injuries from the toxic gene-altering agents they let their own doctors inject into them.

We are told that the last days before Christ returns will be like the days of Noah.

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all awayso shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Matthew 24:37-39

The flood is not a literal flood of water this time but a flood of lies.

Here we see “the earth helped the woman”. The “earth” is a reference to people of the earth. There are some who may not be saved believers but they are awake to the crimes of the satanists. These people will help others including the Lord’s followers.

However many of us will die in this war, as we stand for the truth.

And the dragon was angry with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 12:17

The “remnant, meaning “remaining ones”, are those saved, born-again spiritually, regenerate believers. They keep the Lord’s commandments (Matthew 22:37-40). The words “keep” and “have” are in the present continuous tense. They are those who are “keeping the Lord’s commandments” and are “having the testimony of Jesus Christ”. That means the believers are staying strong and are not yielding to Satan’s lies but are staying true to the Lord.
