Chapter 9 follows on from chapter 8. So you should read my post on chapter 8 before reading this one.
I use the eschatological scheme known as historical: spiritual . Under this scheme we allow the Holy Spirit to interpret for us (with reference to other scriptures) what the prophesy means to us today. If the scriptures are for us all then we need to believe that God wrote them to us all whatever era we live in. 1 John 2:27
Below I reproduce the verses of Revelation chapter 9, with my comments following.
FIFTH TRUMPET
And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven to the earth; and to him was given the key to the bottomless pit.
Revelation 9:1
The word Greek translated ‘fall’ is πίπτω (pipto) which is related to πέτομαι (petomai) meaning ‘to fly’. The word also has the meaning of ‘alighting on’. The Apostle John saw a star, not a physical star, but an angelic being, come down from heaven and he was given the key to the bottomless pit. Who could that be? We need to compare a few verses to find out.
11 And they had a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue his name is Apollyon.
Revelation 9:11
There is an angel of the bottomless pit, which according to the description must be Satan. Read also Revelation 17:8. Satan was the top angel who fell from grace at his rebellion. We’ll get into that more later. But in verse 9:1 ‘the star’ there is not Satan but an ‘angel’, a messenger, who had the power to open the bottomless pit also known as the abyss.
In Revelation 20:1-3 we see a description of Satan being bound in the bottomless pit. And the ‘angel’ there could only be identified as Jesus Christ because only He has the power to bind Satan in the bottomless pit (Sheol, Hades) which was at the beginning of the church age. Christ is able to ascend into heaven, or descend down from heaven to the pit for He is Creator and “…The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wise, Say not in your heart, Who shall ascend into Heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead).
Romans 10:6-7
Jesus Christ alone has the power, through His actions on the Cross, by which He preached the gospel to the spirits, humans, bound in prison (Sheol, Hades) in the preflood world.
19 By which also He went and preached to the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
1 Peter 3:19-20
For a deep dive into this read Who Were Those Resurrected After Jesus’ Resurrection? But suffice to say here it is Jesus Christ who opened the pit (Hades). I use past tense because it has already happened.
2 And He [Jesus] opened the bottomless pit, and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
Revelation 9:2
The meaning here of the sun being darkened is not physically due to global warming or volcanic dust. No, this opening of the pit of hell is spiritual.
Compare with there verses from the prophet Joel.
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread on the mountains: a great people and a strong; there has not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
Joel 2:2,10
Once Satan is released from the pit, which he has been recently, the atmosphere is darkened by his evil presence. This portends (serves as an omen or a warning of) God’s coming judgments on man. This means the smoke is also a spiritual reference. Smoke hides something from view. Satan is the great deceiver and has recently ramped up mass deception of the nations which he is now permitted to do.
This happened at the beginning of the Church Age described non-literally by the ‘thousand years’. There is no 1000 year Millennium as envisioned by Pre- or Post-Millennialists. Read Revelation 20: The Church Age.
And cast him [Satan] into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Revelation 20:3
At the end of the Church Age, when the non-literal ‘thousand years’ are are finished.
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Revelation 20:7-8
Gog and Magog are demonic spiritual forces gathering the deceived billions to get the deadly so-called ‘vaccines,’ who number as the sand of the sea. Already, at the time of writing this, over 6 billion people have taken over 13 billion bioweapon shots. That is mass deception on a scale never seen before in human history.
Thus, according to Revelation 20:3 when Jesus first bound Satan he could not deceive the nations but at the end of the Church Age (just recently), according to Revelation 20:7, he is released from the pit and therefore can now deceive the nations as stated in Revelation 20:8.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth; and to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
Revelation 9:3
Remember smoke is a spiritual concept. It is out of the spiritual darkness, out of the evil of Satan and his demons that the locusts come. Locust are representative of demons, though on Earth they control evil men and women.
Like the judgment on the Egyptians (Exodus 10:12) locusts are a curse but this time they are not physical insects. In Egypt they destroyed the crops, this time they create famine by whatever means, engineering starvation and death. They have power like scorpions that is to sting and maim. What injects a poison into humans? A syringe! Scorpions have a needle like stinger. The locusts then represent the globalist oligarchs, leaders of big corporations, intent on global depopulation through toxic bioweapons and other means to create engineered famines.
4 And it was commanded to them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those men who have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
Revelation 9:4
This is very clear message from God. The oligarchs have no power except it were given them from above. The grass and the trees were partially destroyed in chapter 8 under the First Trumpet, but not any longer. Now under the Fifth Trumpet it is a time of repentance, to turn to God, because the damage from the toxic injections is only to hurt those who are not saved, those who are not sealed by the Living God in their foreheads, that is, not covered by the shed blood of the Lamb of God..
The parallel to the Passover are significant.
23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you.
Exodus 12:23
It is a notable thing that a large percentage, but not all, of those awake to the COVID conspiracy of the oligarchs, as true believers in Jesus Christ. The rest seem to be of the New Age consciousness types. If they don’t repent and seek the Lord they also will die the second death.
5 And to them [the oligarchs] it was given that they [with the ‘vaccines’] should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months; and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when he strikes a man.
6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
Revelation 9:5-6
Again the torment from the bioweapon shots is likened to being stung by a scorpion but it lasts 5 months. This seems to be emphasising that the effects are much worse and much more long lasting than a real scorpion sting. So severe it is that people would desire to die but they don’t die.
It seems to me that the COVID shots were only a prelude to what the oligarchs have in store. They want to depopulate the world by 95%, to reduce the global population down to 500 million, or at least to 1 billion. Hence they will need to have a lot more bioweapon shots and kill a lot more with famine and wars.
7 And the shapes of the locusts were like to horses prepared for battle; and on their heads were, as it were, crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
Revelation 9:7-8
The demon oligarchs are treating this as a war against humanity. We are considered to be the virus on the planet Earth that needs to be eradicated. To them it is a battle like any other but this time they use asymmetric warfare. All means are simultaneously used. Their crowns [Greek: στέφανος stephanos] are the laurels of a victor who wins a race not royalty. They are men, corporate leaders of the WEF, UN, the Club of Rome, the deep state and the merchants, the leaders of whom Jesus called the synagogue of Satan.
These Satanists included women not just men. Teeth as lions indicates how savage they are. They have no compunction to murder billions of people as we have been seeing with the COVID shots.
9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots with many horses running to battle.
10 And they had tails like to scorpions, and there were stingers in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months.
Revelation 9:9-10
They have a lot of security and weaponry to force on countries their will. This weaponry includes the financial system and the currency printing Ponzi scheme. See Revelation 6: The Four Horsemen Bring Global Depopulation.
Here verse 10 is a repeat of verse 5 in regards to the scorpion stingers. This means it is being emphasized which means it is of great significance. Bioweapons are the new warfare that the oligarchs are using to depopulate the world.
11 And they had a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue his name is Apollyon.
Revelation 9:11
In Revelation 9:1 and this verse 11 the word translated ‘bottomless’ from the Greek word ἄβυσσος (abussos) has the meaning of depthless and bottomless but specifically applies to the infernal ‘abyss’. It is the word from which we get the English word abyss.
Interestingly the ABYS Family Crest (pre-1609) is a crowned viper consuming a grizzling human child while bearing a black yoke balancing two buckets of gold. The full crest contains three vipers; connection is made to Anthony S. Fauci’s great, great uncle (1790-1861) —common grandfather Daniel Staatssekretär Abys von Chur GR (1690-1767) and grandmother Ursula Finner Abys von Chur GR, 1690-unk. (Chuy, Kyrgyzstan). See here.
Both words Abaddon and Apollyon have the same meaning; a destroyer or The Destroyer meaning Satan. The king, the angel of the abyss is Satan. Satan possesses the leader of the group of oligarchs who run the world. I identify him with the Antichrist leader also known as the Beast in the book of Revelation. The synagogue of Satan is the Whore comprised of the international globalist banksters. The kings and merchants of the Earth (WEF/UN/Club of Rome) are servants to the Whore, Babylon the Great, for a time. See Revelation 17: Babylon the Great and Revelation 18: Come Out of Babylon.
The evil Satanist cabal is well characterised by what Jesus called them. He said that they say they are Jews, but are not. They are the synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9 and 3:9). These are the Cabalist/Talmudic Jewish Masonic New World Order. I am not referring to ordinary Jews. They are victims in this too. They are being used to serve the agenda of International Jewry — the Zionists who seek world domination.
12 One woe is past; and behold, there come two more woes hereafter.
Revelation 9:12
That is the end of the fifth trumpet. One woe is past but two more are to come. According to the dictionary a woe means ruinous trouble, calamity or affliction.
SIXTH TRUMPET
13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which stands before God,
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Loose the four angels who are bound in the great river Euphrates.”
Revelation 9:13-14
The name Euphrates may be broken into two parts. “Eu” has the meaning of “good” and “Phrates” comes from the Hebrew word “parat”, which has the meaning of “fruitful”. So together it means “good fruitful one(s)”. We find the first mention of Euphrates river in Genesis 2:14. It was one of the 4 rivers of Eden, but it cannot be the same river that is mentioned post Flood because the entire surface of the earth was remade during the Flood.
So here a spiritual interpretation of verse 14 is that the four angels mentioned are God’s good faithful angels, not fallen angels, which God uses to bring His judgment on the wicked in the following events.
15 And the four angels were loosed, who had been prepared for an hour and a day and a month and a year, to slay a third part of men.
Revelation 9:15
The expression “an hour and a day and a month and a year” is clearly symbolic because of the sequence of time period used. It is approximately 13 months. It could signify a short period of time but not exactly 394.8 days. It is the period of time over which humans are slain through the following program God unleashes on Earth. One third of all humans are killed. This is consistent with what we now know of the plans of oligarch globalists known in the book of Revelation as the synagogue of Satan.
Note the phrase “were loosed”. The Holy Spirit was holding back these spiritual forces, angels, until they were loosed. What follows are evil agents of Satan but they were under control of God’s faithful servants until it was time.
My suggestion here is that what follows is round 2 of the bioweapon shots to be injected into everyone on Earth that the evil agents can possibly get to. Those who follow God are sealed and protected. Thus we are talking about the wicked who have rejected our Lord Jesus Christ.
16 And the number of the army of horsemen was two hundred thousand thousand, and I heard the number of them.
Revelation 9:16
A swarm of the order of 200 million demon-possessed bioweapon injectors and leaders, rulers and officials who carrying out the depopulation agenda.
There is elegance in the “evil” plan. The globalists conscript humans to do their dirty work, using the hospital systems, the military and allied “health” services, all in the name of saving you from an apparent health threat. But ultimately it is God using them for His judgment on the wicked. Those sealed by God are protected, not necessarily from death, but from the second death in hell.
In chapter 6, under the four horsemen, we read that 25% of all humans were killed by war, hunger, famine and bioweapon shots. We may calculate that nearly 6 billion humans remain alive after that time. Then an additional one third also died when the waters were poisoned by Wormwood (chapter 8), which left 4 billion humans alive. That may be also another bioweapon of one form or another. Under this sixth trumpet an additional one third of men are killed through round 2 of the new shots. That would leave 2.73 billion people from an initial 8 billion which would be a two thirds or 66.6% reduction in the human population.
Now this is interesting. The number 200 million is reminiscent of the 500 million target that the Club of Rome/WEF/Georgia Guidestones had set for the global population. It is the same order of magnitude. Therefore they could well be the “foot soldiers”, those who are brainwashed to conform to the will of the ruling oligarchs and carry out their wishes.
Prominent Club of Rome member, Dennis Meadows, hopes the “necessary” depopulation of Planet Earth, down to one billion—an 87.5% reduction from today’s population—can “occur in a civil way”.
“The planet can support something like a billion people, maybe two billion, depending on how much liberty and how much material consumption you want to have. If you want more liberty, and more consumption, you have to have fewer people. And conversely, you can have more people. I mean, we could even have eight or nine billion, probably if we have a very strong dictatorship.”
Club Of Rome Member Hopes Depopulation Of Earth Can ‘Occur In A Civil Way’, 2023
The following I believe to be a spiritual description of the demons who are running those agents who are intent on depopulating the Earth.
17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and they that sat on them had breastplates of fire and of jacinth [orange gemstone] and brimstone [sulphur associated with molten lava]; and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions, and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
Revelation 9:17
Spiritually the evil agents have appearance of fire and brimstone, a metaphor for God’s wrath. So, this means that the Devil who brings the calamity is acting as God’s agent.
18 By these three was a third part of men killed by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
The smoke suggest a spiritual interpretation, and the fire and brimstone suggests the wrath of God. Again it says one third of men were killed by these evil agents.
19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails were like to serpents and had heads, and with them they cause hurt.
Revelation 9:19
The power of these evil agents is both in their mouths and their tails. Their mouths symbolises their earthly power of laws and government. Their tails were like a serpent, a snake. This tells us they are demon-creatures with deadly intent. Lucifer, characterised by the snake, is their god.
Interestingly, Dr Brian Ardis has shown that snake venom peptides were found in many of the COVID ‘vaccines’. These have a toxic effect on the victims preventing blood clotting and causing coagulation disorders with excessive bleeding.
20 And the rest of the men, who were not killed by these plagues, yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold and silver, and brass and stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;
21 neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries [pharmakia], nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
Revelation 9:20-21
The word translated ‘plagues’ is derived from the Greek word πληγή (plege) which has the meanings of ‘a stroke, a lash, or a slash’ and by implication a ‘gash or wound’. Figuratively it means a ‘scourging or affliction of calamity’. From thus it is clear that we may draw the conclusion that it means judgment, a punishment for evil doing.
Even though God killed so many through these judgments there were still many humans who repented not from their evil actions including the worship of devils. They continued to believe that BigPharma can save them and not God.
The Greek word φαρμακεία (pharmakeia) is translated sorceries, and has the meaning of ‘the use of drugs, potions, and enchantments’, poisoning (“pharmacy”) and by extension the ‘occult, witchcraft (as giving control to demons in exchange for momentary, though treacherous, benefit)’.
There is one more trumpet to be blown, the seventh and last trumpet. That happens in chapter 11.
