—The bankruptcy of big-bang thinking and its ‘dark’ fudge factors

JGH1Six important questions are asked in regards to the alleged big bang origin of the Universe? These questions highlight the bankruptcy of big bang thinking, about the origin of the universe that needs numerous fudge factors.

Embracing the ‘darkness’ has led man to develop unprovable fudge factors to plug the holes in his failed theory. I deal with each of these:

  1. Where did the Universe come from?
  2. How did nothing explode?
  3. How did stars and galaxies form?
  4. Why does CMB ‘light’ cast no shadows?
  5. Why the ‘Axis of Evil’?
  6. What about expansion of space?

…. 14 more problems are listed but not discussed in any detail.

Six major fudge factors are highlighted as a result but there are many more. The big bang needs these unverifiable fudge factors; so why hasn’t it been discarded? The answer is simple. The alternative, for the atheist–a Creator God–is unbearable, and for the compromised theist or deist, who accepts a big bang origin for the universe, the Creator as described by a straightforward reading of the Bible, is unbearable.

    1. Robert, It is now public. You can view it now. I presented the talk last night to an audience of about 700. It was well received.

      1. Dear Dr Hartnett, I am a Biblical Creationist & was recently at a Friday evening talk given by Professor John Lennox. It was a brilliant talk ( have heard most of it before ) regarding atheism but during a panel discussion at end of his presentation one of the questions was to do with the age of the earth & Dr Lennox & the two Church of Scotland ministers that attempted to answer the question showed a pitiful & serious lack of knowledge on what Biblical Creationists actually believe. One of the ministers tried to say it was like taking a few of his favourite books & taking one of the books & saying that the other two books are of the same type of literature. In other words he was saying that Genesis does not mean what it says & it is subject to our interpretation. Dr Lennox agreed with this & failed to give a satisfactory answer to the questioner. They fumbled about & failed to even turn to the Bible for the answers. It was very disappointing. There was no opportunity to ask questions from the floor or to challenge the nonsense they were spouting but I managed later just as I was about to leave to see Dr Lennox sitting by himself so I approached him & managed to share with him creation.com & your good self. He had never heard of you & did not even know what a Biblical Creationist was! I had to explain to him that it was what he opposed 6 day creation around 6,000 years ago. I gave him your tract on 8 reasons why evolution is foolish & also 15 reasons why take genesis as history. I prayed that he would read the booklet & maybe check out your website but the next day was all day conference & he disappointingly espoused his long age views & his compromise on Genesis account. I was not in attendance on the conference day but my friend was & said he heard numerous people after the conference saying they were very confused & what about the young people they were saying. My friend approached some of these people & directed them to your website & creation.com. I sent an e-mail to Dr Lennox today encouraging him to visit your website as he has expressed his love of astronomy & I hope & pray that the Lord will maybe break through to Dr Lennox who otherwise is a wonderful Christian man & apologist for the faith yet sadly compromised on big bang & to some extent evolution & millions & billions of years. It is the weakness in his armour & I felt a real burden for him & those who attended the conference who went away without answers to their questions but instead confusion & a misunderstanding of what biblical creationists actually believe. With so much information out there on sites such as yours, creation.com & answers in genesis I feel there is no excuse for such apologists for the faith like Dr Lennox to greatly misrepresent us & what we really believe. I am from Scotland UK & am a Jewish believer in the Lord & a biblical creationist. Like yourself from moment of my conversion to Messiah I was a 6 day believer. I thought would write to you & inform you about this & that you might possibly hear from Dr Lennox. I did suggest in my e-mail to him today that he consider a table discussion on these important issues with yourself or Dr Sarfati( again he said not heard of Jonathan either. Incredible! yet makes pronouncements about what creationists supposedly believes yet not engaged with the most prominent creationists..) or a debate as he can certainly hold his own in a debate. He does not understand the Hebrew of Genesis one & his argumentation is very poor here.
Anyway I thought would send you this mail to inform you & to thank you for your articles, books, & DVDS. Keep up the good work & may the Lord richly bless you & your work. I uphold you in my prayers each day.
        Every blessing,
        Derek.
